2/17/10 Conditions

Post by T360 »

89 Open Trails with a frosty dusting of an
inch or two of fresh snow over a beautifully
groomed base means fantastic conditions today!

Very mild winter temps @-1C with brilliant sun
(so far). Wow, you might even need sunscreen!
The sun could change and if it did, we wouldn't
be disappointed. At this temp shade would keep the
surfaces from getting too much softening solar
energy.

At some point, a day comes when you wake up
and realize that the days are getting longer.

It's probably different for everyone, but there
certainly is more light in the sky in the early hours.

This is just one sign that our season at Tremblant
is maturing, and what a unique season it has been.
Even though we would all like to see more snow, what
we have is in the most remarkably fine shape
imaginable.

We do not think there are any more skillful people
than the Mountain Crews at Tremblant when it comes
to making the absolute most out of the snow we've
gotten. A review of the season will remind us of all
the drama at seasons opening, but it will also remind
us of the fantastic recoveries our Mountain Crews have
made in providing us with some of the most consistent,
high quality snow surfaces ever.

For the small group of Tremblant history fans that may
look at this record at any point in the future, it could be
noted that there is ample daily distraction as the 2010
Winter Olympics are being held in Vancouver, so it seems
that the good news of Tremblant's fine conditions is being
somewhat overshadowed by all the activity on the West Coast
right now.

Fair enough, especially when Canada is doing quite well,
but lets not forget that while we might be glued to the TV
to watch all the action whenever we get the chance, there's
still a great story of wonderful conditions and lots of action,
right here at Tremblant!

Here's a sample of what you will have today. This pic was
taken on our last sunny day, so todays new snow will
make it even better!
