3/29/10 Conditions

Post by T360 »

We've got Snow!

Nothing excites the Spirit of dedicated Skiers and
Snowboarders as much as the sight of Fresh Snow!

At the time of this posting, the accumulation is
enough to cover the grass here with a nice little
white blanket and it is still falling at a good rate.

As shown below in the "Proof of Snow" WebCam shots
below, it appears as though the North Side got a
wee bit more. We'll let you know by Twitter, once
we get over there.

Our recommendation is... Get your butt in gear,
quick, before Mother Nature changes her mind!

The Official open trail count is down to 43 this morning,
largely due to the fact that Soleil is closed today, however,
that will have nothing to do with the other fact that
within the open terrain today there is going to be some great
spring skiing and snowboarding!

As usual, explore carefully this morning as the new snow
may camouflage hazards that were more visible yesterday.
Verify coverage and conditions before you go ripping
around.

This is Mother Natures "Limited Time, One Day Offer"
What a treat!

Every little bit counts and this will improve surface
quality for at least a couple of days, if not longer.

We will do our best to post an Apres Ski update as well,
so hope to see you here later.

Yesterday was a great day too, in it's
own way...

Here are a couple of sample shots from yesterday...

As long as you were very careful with speed and edge
control, it was a great day. No doubt though, that good
basic technique with a compact, well centered position
is essential in almost all spring conditions.

March 29th,2010 Apres Ski, Last Run

New Snow gave us a winter ambiance for at least a day
as trees, trails and pretty much our whole Tremblant
Alpine world looked like a beautiful snowy, mid season day.

Skiing and Boarding was quite good, however the moisture
content in some areas was reaching the saturation level
that created resistance as people skied out the lower
portions of the Mountain. Similar resistance was reported
on the plateau's or level run sections by boarders who
don't have the ability to skate them out as skiers do.

That was a minor inconvenience for the privilege of so
much snow restoration, regardless of how long it will last
into the future.

Speaking of the future, temps are forecasted to reach up
to 25C by Saturday, so keeping this little Snap Shot of winter
for more than a day or so seems unlikely, but Bikini Skiing
is just around the corner!
