Last Run... Apres Ski Update:

The warm, rainy, weather has depleted
the snow from the open runs, however
Tremblant Mountain Crews are harvesting
snow from other areas where runs may be
now closed for the season, and using that
to rebuild both open runs as well as access
routes.

In this snap shot, Tremblant Groomers are moving snow
from the entrance sector of Soleil/Taschereau diagonaly
toward the summit unloading zone of Lowell Thomas.

17 Open trails on the list this A.M.

This is where it gets interesting,
for at least the members of the
following group...

DEFINITION OF:
"Diehard Tremblant Fan/Supporter"

Like us, if there's a strip of snow wide
enough to turn on and a way to get to the
top of it, you'll ski Tremblant anyway,
rain or shine.

Spring Rule #1
The true believers are always thankful for whatever
they can Ski or Board.

Spring Rule #2
There will always be great Skiing and Boarding
somewhere within the open terrain at Tremblant,
the Mountain Crews take care of that.

Spring Rule#3
Every Spring Ski day is to be cherished and is worth
the effort. It's a long time 'till next November.

Caveat:

A) There will always be hazards within the open terrain,
such as may exist due to; being uncovered during daily
use, and or located in areas intentionally not groomed,
such as designated mogul runs/zones, and/or weather
conditions that are not controllable, for example.

B) That matching ideal terrain to any users skill level
is a very individual choice made by the user and it is
therefore up to the user to cautiously explore the open
terrain to locate conditions best suited to their skills.

Bottom line, "use your head" with highly
variable Spring Conditions... don't "get in over your
head" and risk injury. Stay safe, and have fun in
terrain you can maintain complete control in. Use
caution with speed at all times and explore at slow
speed to verify safe passage before ripping around.

in the forecast for tomorrow...

One advantage (if you can call it that), is that
because there are only a few runs left open,
snow that may be quite thick in other now
permanently closed areas, can be moved and
utilized where needed.

This evenings Web Cam Snap Shots feature
exactly this process as we see snow being moved
in massive quantities to be distributed where
we're going to be carving it up tomorrow.

It takes several back and forth cycles to
move the snow from one area of the Summit
across the top. You can also see that the
Summit ski/board racks have been relocated.

Once you've collected the "Raw Material", the
next phase is to use both the blades and the
machines treads to sculpt the snow into usable
contours with smooth surfaces.

Here we can clearly see the large quantities of
snow being used to rebuild La Crete from the Summit
at the TGV and Lowell Thomas off-loading zones,
down toward Beauvallon/Alpine, P'tit Bonheur.
