Not all trail side's look like this yet, but they do exist.
Scroll---> The dry, fine snow that is falling here now
is forecasted to bring up to 10-15 CM of fresh snow with 2 peak
periods of volume, this morning and then again, mid-afternoon.
Will the forecast be accurate?
Lets go skiing and find out....
Days like today are exceptional training days for at least 2
huge reasons...
1) Fresh snow in light winds is ideal for an even
accumulation that improves conditions on the whole
Mountain.
2) Mid-January traffic is light and the Die-Hard Tremblant
Winter friends are typically way above average in Alpine
technique, so the combination of good skill on good conditions
facilitates a therapeutically valuable day of very high quality
exercise/training which has widely documented health/skill benefits.
ie: in other words...
... it's better than the Gym, by a longshot!
BONUS 3rd reason... almost 20 degrees C warmer than
yesterday!
Temps rising from -10C to -4C by mid-afternoon.
Overcast with snow.
Moderate Southerly's, shifting to Light North-East
this aft., so the winds will swing from the Geant
sector, around to the P'tit Bonheur sector, but
they should taper down when they do.
This wind shift may be responsible for very positive
blowing and drifting factors where we see some
really deep drifting potential on all 4 sides of Tremblant.
This is one of the most dynamic, beneficial, winter weather
patterns we can have.
With the warmer air mass comes the potential for Orographic
snowfall as well. The key word is "potential" at this stage,
so while speculating is interesting, we'll try to take some more
good pic's of the reality as the day goes on.
This Panorama from yesterday is getting covered with fresh
snow right now... How much we get remains to be seen...

Only one Progressive opening, but it's one we use
a lot as a learning environment, Sissy Schuss, so
very glad to see that coming on-line soon.
Here's a pic of the Side Door to Sissy Schuss, off
of Gagnon, half way down from the Expo Chair
summit to the Lowell Thomas base, on the right edge.
Excellent day at Tremblant as Fresh Snow
takes Very Fine conditions and makes them better.
