87(*) Open Trails on all 4 sides.

A Wee Bit "Chilly" @-33C

Best Bundle Up...

on the bright side.... Sunny, very sunny.
also.... this is good for the base. Cold weather like this drives the
frost deeper into the Mountain which enhances surface durability
later on.

Here's what you've got... Soleil, Soleil, Soleil.

Winter Weather Warning
We don't like to have to put these in, but every once in a while
it happens. Being properly prepared not only reduces discomfort,
but makes enjoying such a day possible!

Secret to coping today... layers, many, many layers....
and Zero Exposed Skin...

With 87 runs open and the last week of January coming up,
we are approaching the fullness of the winter season and with
a little bit more natural snowfall, being fully opened is not
too far away we think.

Today, with all the precautions taken to cope with the temps, the Skiing
and Boarding are going to be wonderful. Cold snow is dry snow and
dry snow is fast. Cold snow allows inspired levels of control due to its
superior edge set characteristics.

Tremblant Skiers and Boarders are an adaptable, hardy group
that are capable of enjoying any conditions Mother Nature serves up.
This "First Tracks" Web Cam Snap Shot @ 7:45 proves that.

If you are planning a trip to Tremblant at some point soon, then you
should be overjoyed with anticipation of great conditions because all
this winter weather, the cold and the snow, are just what the
Mountain needs for the best possible surfaces in upcoming weeks.

Here's a great sample Web Cam Pic of Expo this morning
with a freshly winch groomed surface. Looking up towards the
peak, you can clearly see the ribbon of smooth, wide surface
that draws people to one of the most popular runs on the
Mountain.

Cold, for sure, but with correct preparation,
very much enjoyable, so bundle up and head out
anyway!

The deep freeze cold snap that has covered Eastern North America
for the past 3 or 4 days, has about another day or so to go before
temps rise to more tolerable levels.

As was mentioned in the daily report above, this will help
the durability of season by putting the frost deeper into the Mountain.

It may seem difficult to deal with right now, but the secret to enjoyment
even in extreme temps., are the correct layers of insulating clothing as well
as frequent warming breaks, proper hydration, quality balanced nutrition
in multiple small frequent meals.

Over the years, we have found ourselves in similar conditions and there is
no doubt that coping with the cold takes extra preparation and care.

With the right gear and a positive attitude it is possible to still have fun,
you just need to be prepared.

The benefit to all upcoming Tremblant trip planners is the
increased durability and quality of the very fine surface
conditions we have.
