We often talk about the "Edge Set Properties" of the Tremblant
surfaces and the pic above illustrates some of what we refer to.

When you can hold a carved edge through the complete turn
without fear of losing grip and sliding out...

You've Got Control!

There are 3 primary factors in your abilities to maintain
grip as you execute your turns at Tremblant

1) Snow Surface Quality with consistency of uniform traction
without underlaying ice or other hazards.

2) Tuned Edges on Skis or Boards that are fresh, sharp and ready
to carve a tight line.

3) Personal Training and Skill Set development that will allow you
to apply the techniques and commit to the physical movements
and energy necessary.

All 3 of these factors are obviously interdependent, but no matter
how fine your skill sets are, or no matter how well tuned or fancy
your equipment is, the most basic element of the equation is the
Snow Surface Quality.

All skill levels will find abundant terrain at Tremblant right now.
Anyone can see from these pic's just how fine the snow is and
that's exactly what you need to both have fun and improve your
own abilities.

O.K., now that we've said all that, we do need to include
some basic travel "Advisories" , namely, watch out for busy
weekend traffic and keep your speed down where appropriate.
There are a lot of beginners and there are some areas on the
Mountain that need caution like around intersections, trail run-outs
and some narrower and/or steeper sections. Some of these areas
can have slick or icy spots, so use your head.

As Excellent as conditions are, we are still dealing with Mother Nature
and that means there can be glitches that occur during the normal
wear and tear of the day.

Todays Weather:

Nice! Starts at -12C and getting colder as we head back toward
the deeper side of winter for the next few days. Today should remain
very pleasant though, through to last run with mostly sunny skies
and even some sparkly shinny snow flakes floating around.
Very light winds.

Saturday actually had slightly better conditions, however
it was super busy, so there were some lineups at lifts,
but hey, that's the way it goes.

While the Sunday crowds were notably smaller, the
surface quality suffered slightly in some of the higher traffic areas.
Nothing major, but the wear and tear of Saturdays big crowd
definitely scrubbed some of the narrower or steeper sections.

The Westerly wind at the Summit got your attention as it blew
strongly and it took less than 40 seconds for exposed fingers
that were out for Pic. taking to become raw.
