95(*) Open Trails, Tremblant Fully Opened.
Yesterday was one of those wild, unpredictable days that saw
everything from blizzard like snow squalls to brilliant sunshine,
and a whole lot in between.
All the snow adds up though, and that will make today special.

Todays Skiing and Boarding are going to be nothing less
than fantastic. Frequent fresh snowfall over the recent past has
accumulated to the benefit of Tremblant's overall base and
the Mountain Crews were working to groom it all last night.
It sometimes takes a day or 2 for the Mountain Crews to catch
up after a lot of snow, so we're thinking that a lot of the green
terrain will be nicely groomed for today.
Apres Ski Activities at Tremblant include
kite flying and trail grooming!
Lac Tremblant offers the perfect place to catch the late
day breezes for Kite Skiing or Kite Boarding. Gusty conditions
resulted in some impressive speeds as the wind whipped
these riders back and forth across this end of the lake
in seconds!

There are a few minor wear factor zones that could include
slick or icy bits , but they are mostly restricted to small areas
of higher traffic concentrations around trail intersections, run-outs
and the downsides of some steeper pitches. In the case of Algonquin,
the new trail on Versant Soleil, there is an area of rocky debris at the
bottom that requires low speed navigation.
Todays weather starts out a chilly -21C, but it is now forecast to rise
throughout the day and should pass the -8C mark by noon and -6C by 3P.M.
As usual, it will be the winds that require the most directly applicable
comfort procedures, so be prepared to keep all overlapping garment
seals around neck, waist, wrists, etc., etc. properly aligned for optimum
personal heat retention.
The upcoming week shows the potential for some
whacky weather variables.
Let's start with this one...
Our Favorite Weather "Warning"!
Then, we'll move on to this...
Wow, we could see a lot of dramatic changes coming up here,
so get ready for anything if your visiting through this time period.
Of course, long range forecasts are subject to a high degree of
difference by the time we actually get there, so lets hope that
the changes are related to lower temps to preserve the surfaces.
Sometimes it seems like everything at once!
