Look at the snow height on the fence boards between the
"Before" and "After". Based on this simple observation,
you can draw your own conclusions.

So far Mountain users have had a range of reactions from"Epic"
to "Icy", so depending on your skills, your opinion may vary.
There's no doubt that the more practice you've had at these
kinds of recovery surfaces, the better off you'll be. The important
thing today is to take your time and go safely no matter what skill
level you're at.

At least it's nice to see the snow back in the trees so soon
and the new snow will definitely give the Mountain Crews
a leg up on the restoration process.

Everything looks a lot better with fresh snow on it!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speed, Control and Conditions Caveat
For All Skill Levels In Effect.

Watch your speed today.

24 hours ago it was +8C, it is now -11C with 2 inches of
fresh snow on top.

That means there will be icy glitches that could be covered by snow
so potentially, you will not see them until you are on top of them.

Mixed surface conditions of highly variable resistance may create
potential imbalance situations when you pass through high
resistance zones that may come without warning or slick, low
resistance zones that may come without warning.

You need to explore the Mountain with care and control until
you have verified safe passage for your skill level.

Traffic Notes:
Weekend attendance means increased awareness of those
around you to ensure adequate space for maneuvering. Watch out for
those who are new to the area and may not be familiar with things and
could make sudden directional changes into your path.

Make the best of things and take advantage of the
new snow at Tremblant. It's still winter and we've
got plenty of great skiing and boarding to go this
season.

For Best Tremblant Results...
We're recommending a fresh Tune-up on your
Skis or Board for optimum edge hold.

Gonna have to disagree with the "nice recovery Tremblant" on this one.... as of now anyways Although you can see they are trying to recoup many of the trails by tilling and churning them so they dont become boilerplate, a large quantity of the trails open are sheer death cookies and super firm.. Realizing the major thaw and then quick cool down obviously takes its toll fast, I would have to say trail conditions are marginal at this time. Im sure over the next few days they will be able to groom it out and bring back great conditions but as of today i think they have some work ahead of them..

Conditions were either a sheet of ice or lots of ice golf balls. Even Tremblant parks facebook page were honest on how bad it was. Tremblant should not have been charging full price today that is pretty disgusting in my opinion and will only create really unsatisfied customers.
Hopefully the groomers can break it up better tonight.

Hey Guy's ...

Thanks for the Updates/corrections.

Part of the challenge of posting before the Mountain
opens, like at 7:30, is that what you have is the presented
data which we try to combine with things like web cam images
and experience in similar situations.

That's why we put in:

"Speed, Control and Conditions Caveat
For All Skill Levels In Effect."

and...

"You need to explore the Mountain with care and control until
you have verified safe passage for your skill level."

Of course, if we were writing the fine print part now, it would be
different, based on what we've learned through the day, so we will
use todays experience and your input to improve that part of
tomorrows report.

The "Nice Recovery" part came at about 6:30 am when we were looking
at 5 CM of fresh snow, together with the way yesterdays Official Snow
Report started out with about 50 Progressives, and we were talking about:

"Things could be a lot worse, like still raining, just frozen with no
new snow, or a ton of progressives, so all things considered, to have
5 Cm of fresh snow after a day like yesterday and a whole lot less
progressive openings is a pretty good recovery compared to what
it could have been."

Please forgive the enthusiasm, we were just happy/thankful to see any
new snow and a lot more unconditionally open trails.

We hope the Mountain Crews make good progress with the grooming too.

It's just a logistical task that has to physically cover about 500 acres and
no doubt, you can't do that by just snapping your fingers, so we'll have
to hang in there. We're confident that things will improve to some degree
each day. There is some additional snow in the forecast which would
be an asset too.
