Sorry for the grainy nature of this pic., it was an "Automatic"
setting, spontaneous snap shot taken while moving, which was not
a good thing, but it does convey the spectacular scope of
Tremblant's beauty right now.

Yesterday was a classic Tremblant Spring day, some icy bits
after an overnight sub-zero, but the sun's energy did not take long
to get things warmed up, softened up and ready to rock 'n roll!

The first things you will notice at Tremblant today are both the quantity
and quality of coverage. In 82 open trails, there are very few hazards because
all the March snow we got was carefully packed and groomed into the base
by the artists of the Tremblant Mountain Crews who are at the very top
of their profession. We have so much respect for these crews, they take
the "Quantity", and put in the "Quality"!

Behind the controls.
From the well supported position of a Recarro custom seat, the
Pinroth Groomer operator has steering control through the 2
electrically activated hydraulic valve controls at his left hand
that are connected to the tracks. By changing the relative speed
from one side to the other, directional course is determined.
Equal speed to both is straight ahead, or reverse.

The right hand control is for the "Tiller" attachment, shown in the top
photo, at the rear of the machine. This is the device
that gives us the beautiful corduroy finished snow surface.

This pic. below is interesting because if you look at the left hand side
trail edge, you can still see the "corduroy" Grooming lines, just inside
the trail edge. This is at "Last Run" on P'tit Bonheur, late in the day,
after much use.

We cut some "Lazy 8's" overlapping power carves which you can see
held a clean edge throughout the complete sets of linked turns.
The carving quality of this snow is immaculate.... even after a full day's use.

Please Note: "progressive" or gradual openings
due to overnight freeze and daytime thaw. It may take a
couple of hours for things to loosen up, but it's worth
the wait!
