Still 100% Coverage Slopes at Tremblant.
It’s a “Yellow Lens Summit Foggy” Day… at least so far...
The Forecasted Snowfall has not yet materialized at the depth we were
hoping for, but there is a measurable 5 cm or so that will enhance
surface smoothness, so we take that with a smile because it’s still
far better that teaming rain which many areas South of here are seeing.
(Things could be a lot worse… as noted below.)
The Skiing and Boarding are going to be Very Fine with a dash of
Spring Softness in the Top Layer over the 100% coverage of the
firm and very well established base. We feel the overall softness
will be carried over much of the Mountain by the vigorous West wind.
As was forecast, the warmest part is already over and with the
South Resort Base at +2 C, the small degree of actual heat has come
as predicted before Daylight.
The Summit is Sub-Zero, and has been Sub-Zero all night. Just barely,
but that’s enough to keep the Snow in the Trees which is the best evidence
and indicator we have for Good Upper Level Mountain Conditions.
scroll ----->>> You can faintly see “- 2” C in the left-hand zoomed in image
above of the Summit Data Board we call the “Traffic Signal”.
An excellent sign of retained Sub-Zero, Upper Mountain temps
overnight. By extension, the snow surfaces having the benefit
of those below zero temps will keep more winter-like qualities.
Below:
The whole North Side has also held Sub-Zero for most of the night and
as a consequence, will probably have the most Top-To-Bottom
evenness in Surfaces at this time.
scroll ------->>>> The temp is headed down, even if it is a bit slow, and should break
back below Zero by around Lunch time as it works it’s way down to
-5 C this eve., then to a crisp -16 C overnight.
If you’re coming tomorrow… bring your Sharp Edges.
Relatively, and Regionally Speaking….
Spring Temp Swings are of course very normal for this time and frankly,
we’re lucky we have not seen more of them. There will be those who disagree,
but we would far sooner see “Cool” OR “Cold” with consistent Winter Snow
surfaces anytime over Thaw, Freeze, Thaw, Freeze “Warm” cycles that are
always very prone to Icy and take more to recover from.
As this is being written, the Southern Townships below Montreal are at
+ 4 C, Burlington Vermont is at +6 C, all with Temps. RISING and varying
rates of Rain.
Tremblant is at +2 C with Temps FALLING and Summit retained Sub-Zero
all the way through.

of when and where to go for better chances of a truly High Quality
Winter Alpine Snow Sport experience, what we think you need to
keep in mind is:
“North” rules over “South” for “Winter” …
and favourable Ski/Board Conditions…
95% of the time.

------------ Traffic and Weather Observations --------------
We are attaching some primary Lift Traffic Observations
for the future reference of Tremblant March Break Trip
Planners who have expressed concerns about Lift Capacity.
These illustrations show minimal delays.
Weather Observations Self Explanatory.
Time Stamped as per attached individual Pic. file data.
Please Note: At the time of this Flying Mile Base shot, there is
about a 13-15 minute wait at the Gondola. This pic is added to
illustrate that on the left side entrance at Flying Mile the wait is
less than 30 seconds, so if you want to stay moving, there is usually
a way to get up at adjacent Lifts or, in the “Singles” line.
