We have no idea how much will fall, or how long it will fall for...

Apres Ski Earlier, you could see the Weather moving in…

It’s now -6 C at South Base Levels, so somewhere around - 11 C at the Summit
and it may drop as much as another 4 or 5 degrees C between now and
Sunrise.

It’s supposed to be mostly Sunny when daylight comes in less
than 4 hours, and with a anytime high of around -6 C, a very
manageable Winter day of Exceptional Conditions, way above
statistical averages for this date.

Go if you can...

------------- 8:27 A.M. Orig. Post -----------------

71(*) Open Trails on the South and North Sectors of Tremblant.

High Performance and Low Traffic = Excellent!

-16 C under Sunny Sky’s and a forecasted rise to -3 C by mid-afternoon.
The wind is forecast to be Sou-East, swinging around to Sou-West and
at Moderate speeds. The nice feature of all all that is that as the directional
shift happens, the cloud will begin to build and later on… More Snow!

With the forecast detail below, that automatically means that if you can be here
tomorrow, make that a priority because it may be one of the last Pure Winter
Days of this Season.

Over the last few days we’ve been suggesting that this is the
time to book a few extra vacation days to take advantage of the
unique opportunity that this unusually Wintery Season has
presented. We stand by that as not only a specific for this
particular moment, but we’re also going to suggest that for
the true Tremblant Fan, having an Emergency Vacation Day
Reserve for Extraordinary Ski/Board Conditions is a perfectly
valid concept for the future too.

We understand that for many, the constraints of Real World Schedules
and Commitments does not afford any provisions for “Hooky”,
i.e., skipping class at school or missing work to Ski or Board, but
for those that can...

Having a few flexible and quickly available Vacation days for this
or any other season allows rapid deployment when such fine
conditions are unexpectedly delivered by Mother Nature.

If you find yourself reading these notes as part of a future review,
keep this in mind… if possible, save a vacation day or two for
times like this that are so totally worth every effort you can make
to to take advantage of them.

Conditions will be the product of the incremental refinement that
always occurs with Repeated Daily Grooming of Cold Formed Snow.

Cold Formed Snow responds so well to compaction that relies on a
mechanical bond between Snowflakes rather than an adhesive bond
when warmer, moister snow is packed. This cold packed Snow
Skis with very little Resistance and very high Grip, so performance
and speed are really very close to optimal.

Choose your Terrain within your realistic Skill Level, and you simply
can not make a mistake. Everything that’s Open should practically
speaking, be very close to perfect.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
