T360 Apres Ski Edit…
Temps on the Mountain did not see any Plus C values until after lunch,
and even then only very slight and at lower Base levels. Summit and North
Sectors remained almost completely Sub-zero throughout. There was some
Solar energy, but nothing that would touch the base.
(Time correction on Web Cam Snap Shot Below to approx. 2:15 P.M.
...sorry about that we had to re-capture the Screenshot file
which re-labelled the time stamp from orig.)
Friday Should See A Sunny Start and stay mostly sunny for all Open Hours.
Temps will break into Plus C territory by 11:00 A.M or so, with
a projected day-time high temp of +5 C by late afternoon when
much of the North’s surfaces will begin to be shadowed.
There is Early Evening mixed precipitation forecast, including the
possibility of rain, but not until after Last Run when the temps are dropping.
Consequently, we think there’s a good chance that could be All Snow on
Mountain Elevations!

59(*) Open Trails on South and North Slopes at Tremblant that do not yet
include a number of “Progressive” openings that can be anticipated after
all the thermal inputs of Solar and Air this morning soften things up for safety.
Skiing And Boarding Conditions:
Excellent “Spring” Daily Cycled Morning Firm to Afternoon Soft.
The Base is Very Safe and will be the foundation of continued Way
Above Average. The biggest visible cosmetic change is the melting of
the Snow out of the trees that is pretty much complete on the South,
but more gradually occurring on the North.
------------------------------------------
Spring 2014 Versant Nord, North Side, Open Status Officially Extended
to April 13th, and Closing Weekend Too. More detail below.
Merci Tremblant!
-------------------------------------------
Above: File shot from last Saturday that shows the melting going on in
the uninsulated Tree Boughs that is typical through any Thermal cycles.
This appearance has remained similar, particularly on the Cooler and
more shaded North where much of the Summit sectors have seen less than
a few hours total of any Plus C temps in the last week due to elevation
and are consequently very well preserved.
None of that will impact the base that has the benefit of about an estimated
3 or more Metres of Frost underneath to support its stability and durability.
The Very Sweet and Very “Wall-to-Wall” 100% coverage is todays result
of all those weeks of whacky-Cold and... not even a "Hot Spell" at this point
could substantially diminish much of what we have at this moment.
We think you’ll even see great Snow retention in the bush, just because the
entire Mountain is now going to acting as an immense Cold Radiating/Storage Device.
Below: This is another file shot from last Saturday that is a wide angle adjacent
to the Shot above. The most important thing to note here is that even though
this run has not been groomed for some time and is now moguls on the
steeper sections, there was not even a single pebble, leaf , twig of any other
form of surface glitch. It literally has conditions that would be considered Excellent
in mid-Februrary, let alone the end of March, beginning of April.
We would consider it a good candidate for Grooming, but regardless
of any personal preferences in that, it is in remarkably fine shape for
this date and even in full mogul mode, fairly easy to navigate and
definitely one of the most scenic sectors of Natural Beauty.
Long Range Outlook...
Very Good News For All Tremblant Fans.
The Spring Opening Hours Schedule has been changed to extend the North
Side Open Status from April 7th to April 13th, at which time a review process
will determine the North Sector’s availability for the following 4 weekdays.
The new North Schedule also specifies Open Status for a Long Weekend
of April 18th, 19th, and 20th.
This is a very welcome development because reporting the News does not
always mean everything is “Rosy” and there have been literally dozens of
recent negative feedbacks in Tremblant related Social Media accounts
expressing dissatisfaction with the original schedule that are not the kind of
news we like to record. Management’s decision to change the plan for the benefit
of All Mountain Guests is therefore a Positive Step forward in Mountain Utility
for the balance of the Season.
Notwithstanding any of the unfortunate communications process regarding
the “Who, What, Why, Where and When’s” of what Customers did not like
about either the original plan or its implementation, the fact that Management
has listened to Customer concerns and has responded by increasing the length
of time the North Side will be Officially Open, is ultimately a good thing.

With the extension of the Versant Nord, North Side
Open Dates the full advantage of optimal conditions
on the Terrain there is worthy of planing attendance
as often as possible. We’re looking forward to the
very happy coincidence of this being the second of
2 Spring’s in a row of extraordinary Skiing/Boarding
quality right up to Last Run.
