The Upper North Sectors continued to hold Cooler, as in less warm thermal effect,
conditions. The Speed capability in these areas was the best on the Mountain today.

For Future “Warm” Reference:

A Speed Utility Trick For Warm, “Plus Value”, Single Digit(**),
Above Freezing, Ambient Air Temps:

When Possible, Ski the Shadows.

If you look closely at the above pic. you’ll observe Left Side Shadows
and where they exist, the Snow Surfaces enjoy less Thermal Energy,
consequently, they are faster than the adjacent Sun-Soaked areas that
often become somewhat “Sticky” as they get warm.

Of course, as the Sun makes it’s way across the sky, the shadows change
shape and location, and so moves the quick Snow under their cover.

(**) We say “single digit” plus temps because above that,
the ambient is too warm for significant advantage.

Weather Notes For Thursday:

Temp’s falling through the night to -13C by 8:00 A.M.
Some early cloud clearing off by mid-morning and Sunny
from that point on. Strong Nor-West Winds.

Daytime High Temp At -6C.

"Bundle Up" Alert.

96(*) Open Trails on the Instantly Springy 4 Sides of 100% Covered, 100% Open #Tremblant.

In Every Good Sense Of “Spring Skiing”... Tremblant Gets Top Marks.

It’s the Biggest “Game Changer” we’ve had all Season...

The 100% Fun, Instant Spring that Commenced Yesterday, Continues On...

at least at Lower Mountain levels, because the temps did not go below zero last night.

Spring Conditions will also likely become widespread over all Mountain elevations as
the Morning Cloud is forecasted to clear off and Sun and Plus Temps begin to work
on the very top layers of all the surfaces.

We are quite specific in the reference to “Top Layers” because we feel the Frost
below is going to support the core of the Base for many, many weeks. So, we
think the Square Area of the Groomed Alpine Snow Sport Trail Network Coverage
is going to be remarkably durable, not to mention remarkably FUN!

By Last Run yesterday, there were definite Mashed Potato Top Layers
on Johannsen at the Sud, South Resort Base.

We should be able to report on the extent of the Grooming carried out by
the Night Shift, but we can say with very certain conviction, that Grooming
will determine the degree of User Friendly in the Green, Beginner and Blue,
Intermediate Terrain.

Experts are going to have fun everywhere. It is truly an Experts Go Anywhere,
Do Anything kind of day on the Groomed, Black Diamond, Steeper Terrain.
The softness will actually be an asset for Experts. The slight increase in
Friction or Resistance to Forward Motion is a very useful help in maintaining
control on the steeper pitches of the Black, Expert rated Trails.

---------- Conditions Caveat -------------

That does not mean it will all be easy or without hazard for Experts though.
Natural Hazards exist primarily in the Un-Groomed Open Terrain where there
can be common patterns of traffic and/or previously Wind Eroded thin coverage
over some crests or across land contours. There may be bare spots with either
rocky outcroppings or brush debris. In the Open "Sous-bois", or “Glade” Terrain
the hazards can change by the hour.

For the most part, Experts understand all that. If there are problems, they can
be with people who somehow end up in Terrain that is above their actual Skills.
In this regard, it is up to “Experts” to be responsible with their friends and to
urge and promote safe Terrain selection. What we don’t like to see is the
“Dare You” or “Bravado” attitude that can tempt the less skilled into situations
where accidents or injury become greater probabilities. One example of this is
obvious Intermediates exiting Windigo onto lower Fuddle-Duddle cursing the
Trail when they should be cursing the “Friend” that dared them to try it.

Please Promote Safety First.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
