T360 Prime Time Apres Ski Edit @ 10:15 P.M.

It was, for the most part, a grey, overcast day...

but Grey or not, it was Fast!

Surfaces were Smooth enough, however there were the kind of undulating
Dip’s ’n Waves that frequently occur when there’s a lot of new snowfall.

By Last Run, the next batch of snow had been falling for about an hour, but
it seemed to suddenly become much more intense...

The Snow is forecast to stop before Sunrise,
then it’s actually supposed to be Sunny out all day!

Temps @ +4 C will make it a Super Easy Comfort Day, and the Skiing
should be Surreally Super Fine!

We call that a “Happy Problem” at a Ski Resort!

Obviously, extreme care and caution are required while driving.

Depending on exactly when and how the Snow falls on the Mountain,
caution with speed while Skiing/Boarding will be necessary too.
Reduced visibility and tracked, thickness of falling Snow accumulations
can mean surfaces are less forgiving to balance factors and directional
inputs.

As a starting point... “Before"

Over the course of the next 36 Hours, i.e., up to Sunday Eve. Apres Ski,
we’ll look at this location to monitor accumulations as a sample of
how the snowstorm system is adding more.

Down The Trail, And Around The Corner... from the above Proof Of Snow,
we should call this one “Proof Of Smooth”. We don’t know quite how it manages
to stay so close to perfect, no matter the weather, but P’tit Bonheur exists in
some sort of Time-Space Continuum that cloaks it against practically anything
negative and yesterday was certainly no exception. This is the very good reason
we refer to this Trail so often, it is truly a benchmark of Mountain Health with very
close to 100% “Goto” reliability.

of the Surface Performance Qualities of the Groomed Terrain at Tremblant as of
now. Additionally, as it was taken at “Last Run”, you can see the Snowfall
had already started.

Less than 36 hours after a +8 C warm day, this area has quite close to Winter
Conditions, like everything else, and we think that’s a spectacular recovery effort
on the part of Mountain Crews(**). Another benefit is going to be that this Smooth,
Carve-able Surface is going to be the foundation for the New Snow accumulation
overtop instead of what could have been an icy layer, if the Night-Shift Grooming
had not been so successful.

(**)If you’re looking at this record in the future as part of any research into
this time period at Tremblant, we feel it’s important to point out what we call
the “Quickness Of Quality”, i.e., the speed that Tremblant Mountain Crews are
able to restore top level surfaces after wide-ranging weather events. We think
this quickness is a significant factor in ensuring that your Ski/Board Holiday/Visit
will yield the optimal conditions possible and we refer to it frequently because
we feel it’s a very tangible benefit for those who book their time here months
in advance.

Weather Notes:

Overcast All Day with Temps floating around the Zero, Freezing mark, at South
Resort Base Level.

Cooler on the Mountain, typically, by 4 degrees C., so we’re not worried about
thermal effects for today.

Winds carrying Snow from the East, Swinging around to Nor-East late in the day.
Wind Speed is forecasted at low to moderate, under 20KMPH, but that could be
quite a bit different, probably more, at Summit Levels.

Weather Forecast Models Vary, but the estimates are for anywhere between
15 to 30 Cm’s of Fresh Snow!

We can anticipate some very interesting Drifting, but most likely in the late
evening and overnight. Tomorrow Morning should be quite a Snowy Treat!

With Sunshine and +4 C in tomorrow’s forecast, it’s obvious that the Grooming
Night-Shift will be of critical importance to the integration and utility of
the new snow into the surfaces for Sunday.

With such a large potential Snowfall, Apres Ski will not
only show the day’s evolving conditions, but set the stage
for the evening when forecasters are expecting the heaviest
accumulations to occur.

We look forward to seeing you later on!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
