Today’s rain is forecasted to blow off to leave Blue Sky
for the Official Closing Weekend.

Getting back up to 58(*) Open Trails, should hopefully include
these exceptional sectors that still have Great Snow on them!

38(*) Open Trails on the South and North, Foggy, and a wee bit damp sides of #Tremblant.

We’ll Get To Today’s “Damp" Specifics In A Moment, But First...

For Your Information...

Tremblant Has Announced A Bonus Weekend Extension, April 18th and 19th.

We knew it was physically possible, there’s just soooo much Snow and
such an Excellent base, but we also know it’s a Huge Logistical effort
to organize, so Merci Tremblant!

Otherwise...

Consulting with the On-Duty Members of the Tremblant Info. Crews will
be critical today when there is a large number of “Progressive” or
Gradual Openings on the Open Trail List.

They will be the first to know when there are changes that you can benefit
from when additional terrain becomes Open.

Today’s Conditions are a reduced number of Open Trails due to overnight and
ongoing light rain...

However, in our opinion, the reduction in Open Status Numbers is
simply a Preservation Mode Decision and does not indicate any
significant loss of Trail Surface Quality or Coverage on the Primary
Groomed Trail Base. The Base still has a tremendous Refrigerant
underneath in the form of a Record Cold And Deep Frost that will
take many weeks to radiate outward and it continues to support
all the compacted, groomed layers above.

Due to the Fact That This Is Basically The First Rain Exposure On
Mountain Surfaces In Over 90 Days...

To a large extent, we think the Frost Line in the Base is going to act as a barrier
that in this initial rain instance, is going to act like a Roof over the core of the base
and that greatest portion of the rain is going to be shed off, and run down the
Mountain without too much erosion.

There should be loads, n’ loads of “Spring Corn Snow”, but with properly prepared
“Warm” range Wax or Ski/Board Base Coatings, there will actually be Very Fine
Skiing/Boarding within the Open Terrain and all you need to enjoy it is...

Your Trusty “Descente Poncho”!

For Your Information:

Here is the Starting Point for today and future reference:

Considering that within the Late December to Early April Time Period
Eastern North America,/Tremblant would typically experience several
Rainy days in Dec., Jan., Feb., Mar., “Winter Thaws”... and this season
there have been none, zero, nadda, nothing.....

We are unbelievably fortunate to still have the undisturbed Base to this date
and additionally, given the underlaying, supporting frost, a single rainy day is
not going to affect that anywhere close to what average conditions might
normally be for now.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
