T360 Middle Of The Night Shift Apres Ski Edit, Under Construct @ 12:30 A.M.
The “Pictures" Within The “Picture".
First... The “Picture”...
The Big Picture At Tremblant Today.
Sunny, Fast, Cool, Snowy, Breezy, Easy!
Pictures From Within The Picture.
Above: The Dock Pictured in the “Big Picture”, is on the far side of the small
Bay shown on the left(south) end of Lac Tremblant in this POV from the
Soleil Quad as it approaches upper trail “Ryan".
This Above, has been the scene over the past days with primarily Westerly Winds
being funnelled up Beauvallon to race across the summit towards P’tit Bonheur.
“Brisk” would be a Mild Understatement, but that same “Brisk” has also been at
least partially responsible for Super-Chilling the recent snowfall into the Very High
Performance Groomed Surfaces that can be found within all 4 Sides of Tremblant’s
Open Terrain.
The vast majority of the Groomed Terrain is not only very fine, but it’s now
close to Flawless. There’s the odd “Icy” or “Windblown” bit, but it’s mostly
Miles and Miles of Smiles derived from Trail Surfaces that go on and on with
Glitch free consistency.
The Un-Groomed Experts Only Terrain continues to have cautionary proviso’s
regarding Natural Hazards that can be encountered. Exploration in the
Un-groomed should be undertaken with reduced speed and Line-of-Sight
braking capability.
Tremblant Guests from the far corners of the Continent and the World
are all impressed with the spectacularly Sunny Scenery that’s a Signature
of the Tremblant Winter Ski/Board Experience.
Tomorrow should be a couple degrees C warmer, more Sunny Sky, another
night-sift of Grooming, all in all, it could be a slightly better day than today,
especially the additional Grooming cycle part.

76(*) Open Trails On All 4 Sides Of #Tremblant.
It’s Not A Dream... You’re Just having Visions Of Tremblant.
And There’s Only One Cure...
You simply need to get to Tremblant as soon as you can.
The first few runs on the best Snow Surfaces so far this season
will cure up all those “Visions” you’ve had to suffer through!
Yesterday was a huge step forward in Groomed Surface Quality after the Big Snow
on Monday, and some of the best High Performance Carving we’ve had so far this
Season began to appear all over the Mountain. Tremblant Crews did an absolute
magnificent job of integrating acres and acres of light, dry, cold formed Powder
into the Base and the results speak for themselves.
Beauchemin Bas Case Study:
A Typical and Excellent Sample of Remarkably Fine Groomed Carving
Performance at Tremblant Right This Second.
This 3 picture series on Beauchemin Bas, lower, does not really come close
to capturing the near-perfection of Traction-Action occurring here, but it’s the
best we could do with the ambient light conditions. Certainly, it was our
“Surprise du Jour” and as such earns notable distinction for being one of
the best samples of impeccable, Groomed, current surface quality.
One of the best parts on this section was the combination of natural rolling land
contours with the speed and turning radius that were almost ideally matched for
turn after turn of Rocket Speed with Race Car Grip. If you have the Skills, popping
into the air on every turn... (with no one else in sight/safety), was easy Expert Fun,
and yet On The Very Same Space... it would have equally been a Beginners Dream
of Easy, Smooth, Beautiful-To-Begin-On, super-predictable, dependable Learning
Snow.
With “Stand On Them Sideways” radical Carving edge-set, the performance you can
have is only limited by the Muscle Power you bring to the Mountain today. Period.
All Skill Levels from “Beginners”, right on up to “Experts” should find almost endless
sweet lines of descent today. We’d be willing to bet that even the very well
conditioned Experts out there today are going to run out of Muscle, way before they
run out of Tremblant to burn it up on.
It should be a very easy 40,000 Vertical Foot Day, and all that’s going to take is a
steady pace of lapping on some truly exceptional Groomed Trails that are going to
have all-day durability.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION SAMPLE:
(there are lots more, this is only one, but a very good one due to the
popularity of this terrain.)
We’ve been including some Expo Trail Snowmaking pic’s recently and this highly
anticipated Sector of Versant Nord, the North Side, is not too far off from
Opening we would guess.
This is a hand-held 1000mm or so Telephoto off the Duncan Quad so sorry
for the softness around the edges, but it nicely shows the current Big Bump
Trail-Filler Construction process that we are so enthusiastic about.
The reason the Big Bumps are so desirable as a mode of initial Opening Quality
is that they are most effectively covering all manner of Rocky Outcroppings and
natural brush/tree stumps and very uneven surface substrates and when they
are Groomed and Milled Flat... these Marquis Tremblant Expert Trails are going to
Open with Day 1 Quality that never-ever happened in entire seasons of years gone by.
The Big Bump Trail Construction method is a simply brilliant concept and
done the way Tremblant Mountain Crews do it, is one of the best things
to ever occur in total Mountain Trail Opening History.
The benefit is the Fundamental Base Quality you’ll find on these Trails,
from Opening Day 1, to whenever you can get here.
Weather Notes:

Snowmaking and Lift Status for January 20th, 2016, Courtesy of Tremblant.ca
Mountain Crews are doing an Exceptional job of Building, Integrating,
Maintaining, and Refining Vast Tracks of Very Fine Tremblant Terrain.
Within the scope of this seasons development, we could not ask for any more
optimal progress to the current High Mark of Groomed Trail Performance Surfaces
for All Skill Levels.
