The Fast, Smooth, Mid-Winter Speed Came Back X 100 %.

As usual...(a)

Mother Nature can and does often present challenge in Spring conditions
as she has in the past day or two, But...

As Usual... (b)

Tremblant Mountain Crews are always ready to optimize trail surfaces
when the temps flip back to “Cool”, and today was a prime example
of their quickness as the “Easy" performance was back for all Skill Levels.

Tremblant Hits The Magic “500” CM’s Of Seasonal Snow Accumulation!

Yesterday’s All Day Snowfall Tipped the Scales Over 500 CM’s to end the work week
with 506 CM’s.

The Best Way To Get On Top Of The Situation....

After 4 days of Scheduled Annual Maintenance...

Welcome Back Gondola!

The most unusual thing about all the new snow that’s fallen over the last two days
is the rather Sticky forward resistance which, historically/anecdotally speaking, can
happen for a day every once in a while, but despite the temp drop yesterday, was
there to a slightly lesser degree than Thursday, but still there.

Coverage and depth, absolutely no problem at all. It feels like beautiful February
conditions when you look around Trail-Side. There’s a TON of snow in the bush
generally, and even where the sun had exposed some ground recently, the new
snow quickly covered most of that up with a thick, white blanket.

The rather Mogul Prone conditions of Thursday became much smoother yesterday
and remained very stable throughout the day. We fully expect that with the -11C
overnight South Base low that might have gotten down as low as - 15 C or so on
Mountain Elevations last night, the Open, Groomed results this morning should be
even more improved smoothness and speed.

We anticipate having some Conditions Feedback by about 10:00 A.M. this morning
so we’ll update current conditions as that news comes in.

------------- 10:10 A.M. Update :-----------------

Groomed Conditions... Cool and Fast.

Un-Groomed 24 Hr. Snowfall Accumulations... being described as "Thick Powder” where
“thick” means a deep layer, not necessarily heavy.

---------------------------------------------------------

One specific example of Grooming Refinement yesterday that should carry on today
was the complete flattening of Lowell Thomas Bas, Lower, Crest and pitch, as it
descends down towards “Short Cut” and ultimately ends up at Gagnon. This is
the Lowell T pitch that runs parallel to Rigodon.

As part of one of our favourite Nord, North Trail descent sequences, this is a vast
improvement and it was one sector yesterday where due to its slope, Speed
was no problem at all.

Versant Soleil...

“Toboggan” on Versant Soleil, was definitely one of the most fun days of its season
as the slight drag in the snow almost perfectly offset gravity, so it was Roller-Coaster
Fun, Carving Right Down The fall line and it was perhaps some of the Smoothest,
Bump or Cut Free Open Terrain at Tremblant, Very, Very Fine.

That might even be better today, with just a bit more “Speed” in the surfaces.

Tomorrow .... Cooler overnight at -18 C, rising with Sun to -3 C, by Mid-Aft.
Potentially EXCELLENT Pure Winter Day For Sunday.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
