A Very Fine Soleil Opening Via Franc Sud to Toboggan, et al.
Made all the more enjoyable by pleasant temperatures that were cool enough
to keep all the performance advantages, yet, and especially compared to yesterday,
warm enough to actually get hot inside jacket this afternoon. What a relief that was...
Anyway, it was the Ski performance that once again dominated the story.
Consistent, reliable grip and Toboggan’s Trade Mark Roller-Coaster Swoops, Dives,
and Banked Turning Contours made for an overall very fine Soleil First Day Opening.
By the end of the day there were a handful of traffic generated slick or mogul’d bits,
but considering the tightness of the topographical features along it’s route and it’s
tremendous popularity that drew a steady and sometimes heavy passenger volume,
it’s actually quite remarkable that it kept such nice surface quality all day long.
More Apres Ski on the way later as our time permits, but we are looking at more snow
overnight, at least according to the weather forecast(see below). Conditions are
well above average we’d say as all the snow that’s fallen has stayed in place on the
Trails, and a lot of snow has fallen... so far.
The other thing we want to focus on, is...
Nansen Bas, Lower, Under Snowmaking Construction.
This is a critically important Sud, South, Resort Base Descent Path
because it represents the easiest way for Beginners and Intermediates
to descend to the Resort Base. It’s slope is very well matched to those
with entry level skills and when this trail Opens, it alleviates MAJOR Traffic
stress on Johannsen. Developing Nansen Bas, is one of the single most important
Ski/Board utilities we know of. Seeing the Snowguns deployed here is very good
news for all Tremblant Guests.
The Best Evidence of Tremblant’s Overall Condition is the
Overnight Increase in Open Trails from 39 to 57 for Saturday.
That kind of Jump would not be possible without the tremendous
contributions of Mother Nature, and She has definitely been smiling
on us for the start of this season.
More in the morning, see you then!
