As Far As Today Was Concerned...

The time we were on the Mountain was unusually early for us today
so personal conditions experience is limited to up to 2:00 P.M.
In the morning there was some thick fog, but by 10:00 A.M.
things began to brighten and by 10:30, there was Sunshine
on lower Nord, North Side.
(We had added Update Pic’s in the body of the Orig. Post, below
that are time labelled.)

You can see by the second update that Mountain Crews were doing
daytime grooming on Duncan and there was a lineup of expectant
Skiers/Boarders waiting for the ropes to drop for “Open” Status,
which happened shortly before Noon.

It was immediately swarmed the moment it Opened and it did not take
long to Ski/Board off the Corduroy, but it remained basic “Smooth”.

At just before 2:00 P.M., it began to Sprinkle and that became a more
steady rain within a half hour.

None of either the “Warm” or “Wet” has detracted from Clinically Fine
Skiing Performance(yet), that has remained very low friction, and solid edge
grip, hooked up carving. Great “Spring Skiing”!!!

One more Warm Day for tomorrow, up to 11 C ??? Wow, that’s “Hot”!

We think the Snow has enough deep frost in the Base to go for many days,
but there are some “Brown-out” spots that are on Wind Exposed Pitches.
So-Far, these spots are restricted to some of the windiest direct exposures
which have been thin all along, so we’re not surprised. We would not be
surprised either if Mountain Crews began to move some snow around to
add to those zones, but that remains to be seen.

As of Midnight, it’s gently falling, fine rain in Old Mt.T Village, but it has been
On-Again, Off-Again too, so not only not teaming, but sometimes not anything.

All we can do is wait...

Regardless of Weather...

Above: Versant Sud, The South Side Nansen, is typical of the kind of day-in, day-out
consistency of quality you’ll find at Tremblant. As a Green Rated Trail of 6 Kilometres
length, it is meticulously maintained every single day.

Otherwise:

Mother Nature has her own agenda and for the most part, there is nothing Human’s
can do about the effects like last night’s re-freeze, however...

Fortunately, for those lucky enough to be at Tremblant, the Mountain Operations Crew
are very effective at doing the most that can be done with those effects.

The difference between “about the effects” and “with the effects” is an important
distinction because experience shows that Grooming everything as flat as possible
makes Skiing and Boarding far easier whenever “Solid” or “Froze” may be factors in
describing Mother Natures effects on conditions.

Of 57 Open Trails, 52 show Groomed Icons, that’s 91.228% of the Open Terrain
which is truly impressive, but completely normal at Tremblant.

Experience also shows that the Mountains Sweet Spots are typically far more extensive
than the weather drama may lead you to think, so we believe today will probably
exceed expectations on that basis.

We could be wrong, but Ski Magazine Readers have consistently rated Tremblant #1
in Eastern North America for almost two decades, and Grooming Specialization is a major
component of that recognition.

Bottom Line on this point... never close the door on the possibility of a Great Day
at Tremblant, today included.

Weather Notes:

Please Note:
We believe that at the usual -4C Cooler Mountain and Winds Aloft Elevations,
there is at least some probability that precipitation shown here for Sud, South
Resort Base Level, could be Snow over the Alpine Snow Sports Trail Network,
or any portion thereof.

Every Good Reason To Expect Great Spring Skiing.

Regardless of Weather, Every Day at Tremblant Is A Privilege
because Technical Merit Is Inherent In The Shapes Of The Mountain.

For Best Results, Adapt.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
