T360 Apres Midnight, Apres Ski Edit @ 12:50 A.M.

It’s been Snowing at #Tremblant for about 3 hours...

If Anyone Told You There Were No Good Tremblant Carving Conditions,
or... That Tremblant was only Icy Today...

They would be wrong...

Above: Last Run on P’tit Bonheur’s upper Pitch clearly shows the
Performance Carving that was available on this trail All Day Long...
It was in this condition from First Tracks to Last Run and every Run Between.

There was no doubt that the Conditions Advantage went to the Nord, North Side
sectors, from both the refinement levels in the Surfaces, to the User Friendly
qualities of far less wind, Skiing the Nord, North Side was Easier.

The Grooming process generated a finer particle size on the North. That finer, more
granular rendering permitted some quite decent Carving with better turning grip,
traction and shred depth over the entire Summit-To-Base Open Versant Nord,
North Side descent array.

The South had a bigger exposure to the Weather Forces of the past few warm days
and that seemed to result in more solid substrates after the re-freeze that were
more difficult to break up. The Sud, South Side public feedback did reference a
much larger particle size, being up to “Tennis Ball” diameter in places, however
that was not evident on the North at all. With tonights South Side Grooming
it should be gone in this sector too.

Setting aside the Winds and the occasional course surfaces, the Sunny Sud,
South Side Skiing was still very nicely recovered, and the views were Spectacular!

There were times on the South Summit though, where standing stationary for
more than a minute or two, quite quickly caused “Froze Finger Syndrome”.
The sheer force of the wind seemed to focus the cold right to the core,
so no one was really “Hanging Around” and to have hand out of glove for
camera operation could only be tolerated for a few seconds.

It’s Snowing quite heavily now in the Old Village of Mt.T, so once again
it will be interesting to see what the new day holds!

An Additional Night Shift of Grooming should significantly enhance
expanding overall quality.

and the consequential effects at Any Ski Resort.

There will Be good Skiing. It may be limited for a day, however it will be there.

The Official Snow Report from Tremblant.ca starts out before Opening with:

"The unstable weather of the last days gives us a lot of challenges this morning.”

No Kidding... this is a very “Polite” way of acknowledging the Logistical
and very literally, the “mountain” of physical work necessary to offset a rapid
change in temp’s that have taken over 600 Acres of Trail Network from
+9C to -9C in less than 18 hours.

There will Be good Skiing. It may be limited for a day, however it will be there.

Cautious Exploration will be the key to discovery this morning and there is a
high probability that the Official Open Trail List may change numerous times today.

Tremblant Guests should show patience while Crews and Ski Patrol sort out the
possibilities and verify the safety that is necessary to certify Trail openings
and/or identify and mark Hazards.

Today is a day where Hand-Posted Trail signage by the Ski Patrol Supersedes
all regular permanent signage, particularly for difficulty levels. If you find
“EXPERTS ONLY” hand-posted signage... PAY ATTENTION.

Today is a day where there may be Officially Green Trails that have Black Skill
Requirements.

At The Same Time... Today will have the Highest Probability of Sweet Spots
within firstly the Green Terrain, then possibly the Blue Terrain.

There may be Sweet Spots in Black Terrain as well, but Mountain Crews typically
focus on Terrain where Skiers and Boarders need the most support at the lower
skill ratings because Experts can take care of themselves for a while until Crews
get things sorted for those who need the most help first.

Observers who know what too look for are not going to have to wait more than
10 seconds or so to see the difference between those with Tuned Edges and
everyone else today, because those without sharp edges are going to be the
ones Slip-Sliding every which way, and those with sharp edges are going to be
the ones with obvious control in any degree.

If you’re staying in the Resort and it’s been more than 7-10 days since you had a
tune-up, take your Skis/Board into The Ski Shop at the Base of the Cabriolet and
get their Excellent Overnight $35.00+tx rate Tune-up tonight and tomorrow you
will think “Oh My Goodness... Why did I wait so long to do that?” or...
Oh My Goodness... It Feels Like Someone Gave me New Skis!

You Need The Right Tools For The Job... And For Any “Spring” Skiing Holiday
that has +/- C Temp Cycles, Tuned Edges are the Number 1 Asset for Enjoyment
and Safety.

If You Are Reading This At Any Future Time, Or From Far Away...

The Following Is A Major Reason Why You Choose Tremblant.

Adverse Weather Can Effect Any Holiday Plans...
A Tropical Storm on your Caribbean Cruise...
Rain on your Scottsdale Arizona Golf Week...

We can all accept those kinds of possibilities, but the Big, Big, advantage at Tremblant
is the resources in both Equipment, but more importantly, the Skills and Experience of
the Mountain Operations Group here that can so very quickly restore and normalize Trail
conditions back to “Winter” standards of great performance... within hours.
