T360 Middle Of The Night Shift Apres Ski Edit @ 3:07 A.M.

It was a poor day for photography. The ambient
overcast light was flatter than a sheet of plywood, but...

Everything we wrote about, everything we expected
for high performance skiing, was completely, totally,
absolutely, for sure, without a doubt, positively, especially,
guaranteed, unquestionably, concretely, quantitatively,
qualitatively, way, way better than we had ever dreamed about.

On a day that many regional people abandoned because
of a few rainy icons in the forecast, it turned out to be one
of the most exceptionally and universally excellent, high performance
carving days at Tremblant in recent seasons of memory. Period.

Not a single drop of rain anywhere, occasional fat, white,
snow pellets, cooler than forecast by enough to keep it all
feeling “Winter”, just the tiniest hint of surface shred warmth,
very easy near-zero temp’s, and a low ceiling grey overcast,
and all on groomed trails of fully optimized coverage and smoothness.

Tremblant Mountain Crews did an amazing job and it all generated a
day of skiing that should stand out as one of the very best examples
of why you can never, ever, close the door on a great day at Tremblant.

Furthermore, even a remote chance that you could have such an iconic day
should propel you out the door in the morning without so much as a
single doubt that not only you’re going to find excellence somewhere,
but it could end up like today, being the whole Mountain from side-to-side,
and top-to-bottom.

If you missed or skipped today because you thought you
might get wet, then you lost one of the best carving days
you could ever imagine.

More in the morning but with an All-Sun during Open Hours at
a daytime high of +3C, it could be another similar day of
performance, but with that “Sunny” component we all love
for the scenic grandeur Tremblant is known around the world for.
If you can go, but you miss it, or skip it, you’re crazy.

While yesterday was super-sunny and Fabulous Skiing,
(sample on Versant Nord, North Side “Fuddle Duddle”,
Haut, Upper, Trail # 78, Pictured below), Today, for reasons
we explain below, we think you’ll just have to settle for...

“Fabulous Skiing”...

There are at least two possible ways to think about
the evolved weather and ski conditions for today.

1) It could seem like a "Schizophrenic Day” in the sense that
it will feel like it has a “Split Personality” where the air temperature
will feel warm and maybe a bit humid, while the Skiing experience
will feel fast and high traction due to the supporting frost underneath
the top layers.

We could summarize that as...

“Spring” In Your Face, “Winter” Under Your Feet.

2) This could actually be a “Fly Under The Radar” day of superb
Skiing Excellence from every technical point of view, due to the
overcast that initially included Open Hours mixed rainy/snow that
is keeping folks off the slopes, when in reality, all it is, is “Grey”
out there and you’re going to find yourself almost all alone on
fabulous slopes with hardly another soul in sight while you wonder...
“This Is Fantastic Skiing!!! Where Is Everyone???

So-far, it’s both.

Weather Notes:

We’ve gone from a forecast of Rain/Snow mix
to just overcast for Open Hours, so go if you can!

---------- Apres Ski Edit Insert --------------

We just had to add this one in here because we so
rarely see such turbulent looking cloud drama with
this kind of definition. The cloud dynamic at this moment
had every appearance of a “Boiling” sky. Very interesting!
Even though the forecast called for rain, not a single drop
fell all day. There were big Snow Pellets intermittently falling
and you knew it when they were happening as they were
big enough to sting your cheeks at descent speeds.

Conditions Notes:

Firstly,

Some, if not many, “Wild Cards”, however, we think
the deck might be stacked in favour of “Great”.

We could be wrong, but at First Tracks, T360 Fans we know
out there this morning are so-far, going crazy with FUN!
and texting/asking us “Where Is Everyone??? This IS Great Skiing!!!”

Secondly,

Very Important 2 Part Repeat On Grooming Utilities:

Part 1) Duncan Haut, Upper Groomed “Wall-To-Wall”.

This is an excellent upgrade. Period.

Compared to the number of users on the old
mogul section under the chair, the new width
can be effectively used by hundred’s to one ratio’s
of Skiers and Boarders who had to previously contend
with the wear factors of a very confined access to the
Duncan Pitch.

The extra room should allow for far easier descents
and far less focused wear factors for an overall greatly
improved descent experience on this critically central
access point to all terrain below the Duncan Summit.

Very Important Part 2 Repeat On Grooming Utilities:

Basically, same as with Duncan, but on Expo Pitch:

Other Utility Notes:

Sorry to report Duncan Quad has some mechanical issues.
They’re workin’ on it now, so that could change during the day(?),
but in mean-time, it’s a great positive re-enforcement regarding
the value of the new Lowell Thomas High Speed Quad that’s
jumping right in there as a very effective backup.

Additional Utility Notes:

We also hear that the TGV shorter hours are weekdays only
from now on, and weekends will have full open hours.

It is our understanding that this weekend may have
Open Hours to 5:00 P.M!

Thanks for your visit, more to follow
as time permits ASAP, + @ Apres Ski.

Summary: There’s lots going on over multiple topics,
but at the end of the day the most important part is...

"Fabulous Skiing”!!!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
