Please Note: Revised Open Trail List to 14, attached below as pg.2 reply.

If we had to choose one pic. that kind-a sums it all up at Tremblant,
we think this quick moment captures the spirit of the day.

Here’s what your friends were doing at Tremblant today...

This could have been your moment, the moment you imagine
when you get to hear the snap of bindings and feel gravity take
over as the background begins to fade to blur and you find yourself
on those first fast turns of the season at Tremblant. Early White Winter Magic...

There’s a lot open comparing this date to history, and there are high
performance surfaces within all skill level terrain, but... the temperature
oscillation across Zero C yesterday has generated some icy substrates
and you need to be cautious on all first descents to verify safe passage
under effective speed control. Sharp edges are critical for optimized
safety and performance. Just get it done.

It was supposed to be sunny all day, but it was mostly overcast.
(The sun did come out, briefly, and in patches, we’ll show those ones
below.)

When you see gear piled up like that, you know the racers who use it
aren’t too far away...

Eventually, the sun did come peeking out, sometimes more,
sometimes less.

The views at Tremblant were spectacular when the combination
of sun and cloud, light and shadow, seemed to find a visually
harmonic balance.

For tomorrow, the forecast has changed to an all-overcast with temps
floating up to Zero C. It’s actually good to keep the sun off at those
temps, so we’ll take it the way it is. With another nights grooming, the
icy bits of today should be reduced a big bunch. Open Trails should stay
just about the same(+/-.?), which by the way, ended up at 14 this afternoon.

Reminder... bring edge.

Tremblant Is Open for Winter!

If you have any doubts, one look at this is all you need to see:

For about the last 20 some-odd years, P’tit Bonheur
has been the epitome of “Reliable” for Tremblant’s
annual Ski Season Opening Day. Repeat Nov. 22, 2019.

If you think yesterday’s photography was a bit “Blue”, you’d
be absolutely correct. The wind was pushing so much snow
it made camera deployment highly reduced due to lens smearing
snow-blast. The entire array we got had to be taken with
wind at side or back, and even then, you could not keep all
the swirling snow off the lens. A happy problem for Mountain
photography at a Ski Resort!

It’s also an excellent reason that today, Saturday November 23, 2019,
will be so very fine. All that natural snow getting blended in to the
existing base as the temps dropped back to Sub-Zero’s, should help
render a hugely positive element of quality into todays groomed
trail surfaces across all Skill Level open terrain.

If anyone said this picture was from January 10,
everyone would believe it, but.. it’s from November 22...
Amazing!!!

Do you have pic’s of any previous Nov.22 looking like this at Lowell T?

The mere statistic of the 80 cm’s of snowfall so far this season
(as impressive as that is), does not convey the beneficial
drift-in that is occurring on both main sides of Tremblant’s
Versant Nord, North, and Versant Sud, South.

How many previous years has McCulloch looked like this on Nov. 22?

Looks Like Another Super-Snowy Start
To Another Super-Snowy Winter At Tremblant!

Questions you should be asking yourself are how to figure out ways
to maximize your days this season at Tremblant.

Weather Notes:

It’s supposed to be sunny, but so-far, someone needs to
clue-in Mother Nature on that one as it’s still Snow-cloud
overcast, totally.

Here’s the scene from the Summit yesterday, just after lunch
and so far today, it looks just about exactly the same...

Conditions Notes:

Huge Leaps Forward In Grooming Refinement.

It’s great to begin with, but with return to sub-zero’s
and more snow, plus a whole night-shift of grooming,
trail surface quality just gets better and better...

More on this later... just go if you can.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
