Very good technical skiing for genuine late fall. An off/on damp drizzle,
sometimes dry, sometimes wet mixed bag of soft and firm conditions
today. Frankly, most in attendance, spent the day looking forward
to tomorrow.

This is arguably for a good and obvious reason, it’s supposed
to be sunny tomorrow.

Regardless of the warm or cold thermal forces on the trail
surfaces(that are “Wild Cards” when they are this close
to Zero C), the trails should all be Smooth at Opening for
Thursday November 28, 2019. If you add in the forecasted
snow for Wed. overnight, plus the “Sunny”, your going to have
a completely different, and far more positive ambiance for
everyone here, but especially for our American Cousins, up
for their annual Thanksgiving Ski Season introduction.

So then, what you need to do is scroll down to look closely
at the top picture in the Original Post below, showing the
sunny scene from yesterday, and hope that’s what we see
all day tomorrow. We may not get quite the same shred depth
you see below, but grooming should render adequate and
initially consistent loose top layers. What will remain to be seen
is the traffic effect . It is likely that there will be some icy bits
in the zones of trail intersections or where there are constrictions
causing traffic to be funnelled into smaller pathways.

We’re still Super-Lucky to have all this open terrain at this early stage,
but a little help from Mother Nature in both cooler temps and natural
snow will sure go a long way to getting an increase in the open terrain.

We’re looking forward to tomorrow,
so hope you’ve made plans to be here too!

It Was Sunny For About 4 Minutes Yesterday
and we got this pic. that pretty much describes
our All-Day Performance mode:

The sample above is from Versant Sud/South Side, Resort Base
Trail # 29, Johannsen, however, the rest of the 98% foggy
day had the very same +5C Shred Performance Levels that
are so obvious to see here.

((*)Our thanks to our local friend L.B., who has kindly been
willing to be in performance and conditions pic’s over
recent days. Great Skiers help illustrate great conditions
so we sincerely appreciate that courtesy.)

We’re not exactly sure how much of the universal softness
that was everywhere yesterday, will be there today after a
-4C overnight, but one thing is for sure, Mountain Crews will
have it groomed smooth, and that’s always a great starting point.

Weather Notes:

Too many close to Zero C Tipping Points to forecast with
certainty. It could literally go either way.

Of course... Our best hope is that the usually cooler
Mountain Elevations at the typical -4C lower temps,
will be capable of turning all the precipitation over
the Trail Network into snow. Wishful Thinking?
Maybe, but at these temp values we’d say the
“Snow” conversion happens historically between
60 to 70% in previous similar forecasts, so the
odds are somewhat favourable.

North American Continental Weather News:

A huge system from the American Mid-west is progressing
Eastward and there are currently over 21,000,000 People
under Winter Storm/Snow Warning Advisories as reported
by CNN this morning.

There are numerous travel delays and cancelations. This will
effect some American Travellers coming to Tremblant for the
U.S. Thanksgiving Holiday period.

If you’re driving up from N.Y., Pa., Mass., N.H., Vermont, et al,
please follow and allow for local conditions. Do Not Rush.
Better careful than crash. Tremblant is ready for you when you
can safely arrive.

Conditions Notes:

Forecasting conditions today has to reflect the overall effect
of yesterdays +5C “Warm/Soft”, subjected to last nights low at
the Resort Base of -4C. The mitigating factor is the Grooming,
which started after last run. By that time, the temps were already
dropping, so last run on the Nord/North was beginning to firm up
and it was noticeably less soft than it had been even an hour earlier.

The way we think that relates to Grooming is that if Grooming
starts After freeze-up, it renders out a much looser, more consistently
granular product than if it had started Before freeze-up. Grooming
done before freeze-up simply leaves frozen corduroy. Considering the
surfaces were already reverting to frozen before grooming commenced
after last run today, we’re quite hopeful we’ll get the good granular version.

Depending on machine deployment timing(i.e., availability of manpower
and machine speed @ between 3 to 4 acres per hour), and the rate of
re-freeze differences between Versant Sud, South and Nord, North,
there are possibilities we could end up with some of each.

Regardless, the default will be “Smooth”, and that automatically
makes anything else way easier to handle.

It’s NOVEMBER, It’s FALL, we’re so, so lucky to have what we do
and gratefully thankful for the bounty this particular season has
shown so far.

The best advice for today is to bring sharp, fresh edges and remain
within or below rated skill terrain until you are absolutely sure you
can safely move up in steepness challenge by maintaining complete
control at all times.

A Nice Day In The Park, Tremblant Style!

We are working away at a series of spontaneous pic’s we
got in the Alpine Park a few days back, so here’s two more

are working on.

(We don’t know any of these folks, we just happened to be there,
so if anyone sees themselves or friends and wants a pic.file.copy,
just send us a request Via F/B or Twitter and we’d be happy to share.)

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
