This Is Everything You Need To Know About
The State Of Excellence Within The Groomed Trail
Development At Tremblant.

Two Days Ago We Wrote:

"((#) - there is a potential bonus item here that we’ll
cover later, in the mean-time, if you can guess what
that is, you get 10 Stars for total understanding.)"

Today, The “Bonus” Item... “Happened" !!!

It Ain’t A Fancy Action Shot...

But It’s As Beautiful To Us As If It Was The Mona Lisa.

It’s The “Cherry On Top”...
It’s The “Icing On The Cake”...
It’s The “Cream Of The Crop”...

In Our Opinion...
It Is Possibly The Epitome Of An All Natural And Totally Organic,
Brilliantly Simple Descent Path at Tremblant...

And When It Gets Groomed, It Means That EVERYTHING Else
Is Commensurately EXCELLENT!

The answer, and the explanation, at tomorrow mornings reporting,
but in the mean-time...

For This, And All The Reasons Listed Below...
Get Yourself To Tremblant A.S.A.P.!!!

Here is our Forecast Sample for today’s Groomed Trail Performance:

Based on the way conditions have evolved, we think Mountain Crews
will have achieved an upwardly refined trail finish that should look
and perform a lot like this...

What you see here above are converging co-factors that make
one of the most picturesque Black Diamond Trails On Planet
Earth... easy to ski, right now.

First, there are TONS of natural snow on it. Look at the trail edge
to the right side because that tells you there’s enough natural snow
here that it can be Groomed. Second, there’s so much snow that the
grooming has been able to harvest about .75 of a Metre of depth
at the crest visible at that same screen-right side. That drift actually
ran laterally across the trail and all that nice, deep, fresh powder snow
has now been integrated into the smooth, level, trail base.

Its’ almost perfect.

Focus On The Snow...The action shot of the skier is unintentional.
We do not know the person and they may never ever know that
they have been captured in this little moment of close to perfect
technique demonstration appropriate for this trail condition.
The person skied into the frame as we were trying to get a shot
of the skier in front, farther down the trail, and at first we thought
the shot was ruined. But... upon consideration, the slight out-of-focus
conveys action/motion and the snow spray off the skis shows the value
of a quick pivot from frame left(over the little bump between the camera
and the skier), to a side-slipped, Parallel style turn that when linked quickly
with about 11 more alternating right/left additional tight parallel turns, gets
you a totally easy descent line down the steepest part of this short pitch to
the run-out at the bottom.

It’s almost perfect.

Weather Notes:

Wow, Sunny, Warm, Low Wind...

It’s Almost Perfect!

Conditions Notes:

For the Groomed:

Our theory is that today may represent close to ideal
compaction over the recent rapid, deep, snowfall accumulations.
Up to this point, but on a daily declining scale, the “Loft” or airy,
even slightly “Spongy” feel that is a consequence of so much
snow at one time, has been soft enough to present extra challenge
for entry level skill sets within the Beginner and Intermediate ranks.
The important part there is “daily declining scale”, meaning less
and less. So, as a net result, we think that the repeated overnight
grooming cycles should be rendering out very close to ideal compaction
and density today with this Multi-day grooming aggregate effect.

For the Sous Bois, Glades, Hors Piste, Moguls/Un-Groomed et al.,

There are still untracked .5 to .75 Metre drift lines that can be found
running laterally, longitudinally, and even diagonally in the bush.
Similarly, those drift lines ran on Un-Groomed Open Trails like Versant
Nord/North Side Expo, and they are now assimilated into the base
by traffic, where all the Mogul Freaks have churned them into fields
of quad muscle busters that run for entire descent lines.

It’s Almost Perfect!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
