102/102(*) Open Trails on all 4 Sectors at #Tremblant .
If we had to sum it up in one sentence...
The Principle Feature Of Current Tremblant Conditions
Is Retained Seasonally Mature Snowfall Accumulations,
Facilitating Both Refined Grooming Excellence and
abundant Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glade Ambient Depths.
Well, that makes sense... after all, it is the middle of February.
But... That’s exactly the point, it is the middle of February and
these very fine, genuine, sustained, “Winter” conditions are not
going to last forever.

A look above at the well defined, groomed trail edges shows you
the degree of trail-side harvesting Mountain Crews have been doing.
All the very fine snowfall that gets accumulated over time on the trail
edges has been excavated by grooming crews who have distributed it
back over the widths and lengths of the groomed trail network. It’s been
an unmitigated joy to be able to go virtually anywhere with complete
confidence in this renewed, consistent quality of well compacted, very
high traction surfaces under your skis.
IF You Like Real, Authentic “Winter” Conditions... go now if you can.
Yesterday was what many would call a “Blue Bird” brilliantly Sunny day,
and while it was all -20C type winter, the hint of things to come was at
the end of the day when only a cloudless crystal clear sky can show you
there are going to be changes... there was daylight til after 6:00 P.M.,
and that has not been readily visible for months.
“Spring” is only a bit over a month away.
There’s enough daylight, and long enough daylight, that Mountain
Open Hours are, effective today, now extended to 4:00 P.M.
When the Mountain you’re going to can deliver this:
Beautifully retained, light, dry, cold-formed, powder snow
on one of the steepest challenge trails at Tremblant.
You KNOW you’re on the right track for an excellent Ski day or Holiday.
2.13.20.Sud.South.Vertige.Powder.Edge.Conditions.Observations.j.jpg
When the Mountain you’re going to can deliver this:
What you see below is an advanced Intermediate Skier being
followed by an Intermediate Skier on a legitimate Black trail,
as they both successfully navigate their way down using a
rapidly alternating sequence of “Parallel Turning” technique.
Without the quality of groomed smoothness so evident here,
this would be near impossible otherwise. In the absence of
recent grooming, this trail normally has quad-busting moguls
that would test the skills and endurance of a top-level Expert,
but today it can be enjoyed by an exponentially larger group
of appreciative adventurers who will thrive on this descent as
they learn and gain confidence.
You KNOW you’re on the right track for an excellent Ski day or Holiday.
2.13.20.Nord.North.Le.Tunnel.Snow.White.Winter.Magic.Groomed.Near.Perfect.Smooth.Sweet.Descent.f.jpg
When the Mountain you’re on can make you a better Skier,
literally on a run by run basis...
You KNOW you’re on the right track for an excellent Ski day or Holiday.
Weather Notes:
It’s supposed to be partially sunny, however, so-far, it has that
All-Day-Grey, sort of snowy overcast look. There are indeed very
fine falling snow crystals. You need to look closely to see them,
but they are there, and the current distance views are about an
estimated 4 km’s of linear visibility.
Feels way, way easier today with temps back into the normal range.
Conditions Notes:
Repeat:
The Principle Feature Of Current Tremblant Conditions
Is Retained Seasonally Mature Snowfall Accumulations,
Facilitating Both Refined Grooming Excellence and
abundant Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glade Ambient Depths.
In other words... Average is Excellent,
applicable across all Skill Levels,
and across all terrain categories.

Sorry for delays in progressive page assembly here,
it’s “Logistics”, i.e., chores day... more to follow if
time permits. If time does not permit, more in the
Sunday Morning edition.
Bottom line is things are excellent. It’s full seasonal
maturity with very highly refined prep. Any chance
you get to go... you should grab it.
