As our Friends from Scotland might say...

It's a "Wee Bit Brisk" this morning...

Well, at -17C, you won't have to worry about anything thawing
out on the Mountain today, or for the next 24 to 36 hours or so,
as we get a little taste of Arctic Air as it makes its way across
the region.

Our open Trail Count remains steady at 50, however there are
some "progressive", or gradual openings. These progressive
openings may be due to either ongoing Mountain maintenance
with packing/grooming and/or race/competition slopes that are
booked in advance for today and may not become available until
later on.

The Skiing/Boarding should be a repeat of yesterdays good conditions
because we have consistently been below zero, and if nothing else,
this little blast of winter arctic air in combination with the grooming
efforts of the Tremblant Mountain Crews, may actually "dry out”
the surfaces. Speaking of a little "Blast" of arctic air, you will be
faced with a fairly high wind speed today of somewhere up around
35 Km coming from the North-West or crossing over the Mountain
from the Nansen Sector. At these temps, you will need to be well
bundled up, particularly around your neck and wrists to keep body
heat from escaping around these critical seal areas.

If anything, you may notice a rather "granular" quality to much of the
surface today. As noted in the Official http://www.Tremblant.ca Snow
Report, we did get somewhere around 2 inches of fresh snow in the
last day, so that will help contribute to a stable surface with all the
Holiday traffic.

Looking at the future, these temps will only be with us until aprox
tomorrow at noon when they will steadily begin to climb to around -8C
or so, where they will stay for several days.

We are really liking this excellent document which
http://www.tremblant.ca publishes every morning as
an attached file to the Official Snow Report.
It is a well laid out table of the the Open Trails,
the Difficulty Levels, ie: Green Circle(easy),
Blue Square(intermediate) , Black Diamond(expert).

Late Morning update:

Great news for expansion of North Side terrain.

A peek at Snow Making going on right now on the bottom of Fuddle-Duddle. This operation covers the upper portion of Sissy Schuss as well, so this excellent cruising area of the Mountain will hopefully be open in the next little while.

As usual, less line up on the North Side if you want to get more runs in.
