92 Open Trails out of 95!
Our Mountain is just about fully open and given the seasons total
situation, that is Phenomenal, Great, Excellent and Really, Really Good!
The Skiing and Snowboarding continue to be absolutely first rate
for terrain of all skill levels and as long as Mother Nature cooperates,
things will remain that way. The mild weather we have today is just
below the point of any significant thaw and we will be most thankful
if it stays that way.
Big Activity News:
Coupe Taschereau - January 16-17 - Provincial-level GS and SL
race for young men and women ages 13 and 14, organized by the
Tremblant Ski Club. More than 150 participants from Quebec,
Ontario, and the USA are expected to attend. You will see the
Olympic Competitors of the future at Tremblant this weekend!
Mild weather continues for next few days at least, but is
forecasted to remain just below freezing.
- Skiing, Boarding in the clouds at Tremblant's Summit. Even though the base level temps are just around the freezing mark, our Summit should remain nicely below and the snow in the trees is a good sign of that. This view is looking North-East at the trees between the Lowell Thomas upper off-load zone and the Patrol HQ.

What can we say, mild weather and snow are not necessarily compatible,
but in our case, the temps are forecasted to be just below the freezing
mark which would be the best we could hope for.
In the mean-time, as stated above, the conditions continue to be very
good for all skill levels. Big Bonus, there is snow in the forecast for the
next few days.
Snow in the forecast for the next few days is quite important, not just
because it will add to our base, but because it signifies that meteorologists
believe that the upper atmospheric temperatures will remain cold enough
to cause any precipitation to be in the form of snow.
O.K., so that's positive factor #1, positive factor #2 is that the temp
forecasts at just below freezing are at the Base level, and as we all are
aware, the Summit at Tremblant is typically 3 to 5 degrees Celcius
cooler than the base. As a result of these 2 factors, we hope to see
stable conditions for our beautiful, all snow, base.
A recent "Hot Topic" around the Mountain has been vision in a
snowmaking environment. An excellent reply with a simple, effective
technique for Goggle lens clearing has been posted by AndrewEberhard
in the General topics section and we recommend that everyone take a
look while this is fresh in our minds. Clear Vision is an essential safety

- As usual, there is only a fraction of the traffic on the North Side, but the secret that all the locals know is that the conditions on this side sometimes are a bit better.

Be sure to get out and take advantage of these Great conditions
while we have them. Tremblant is wearing a fine Winter Coat of Snow
that should not be missed.
