More or less, plus or minus a day or 2...
Today is the “middle” of the season, almost exactly the
same number of days to go, as the number of days gone by.
Weather Notes:
Very cool for sure , but not crazy cold, you just need
to haul out the layers, then focus on overlaps, seals
and fully secured closures. It is attention to tight
closure detail that will optimize your thermal envelop
because the wind pressure from forward descent
speeds will find the smallest cracks that allow quick
penetration of cold.

As good as things are generally, there are some areas
that could use the refinements that they usually get.
Typically, these trails get a periodic grooming reset
that makes them accessible to a broader range of skills,
however at this stage they require Expert experience
only and you need to pay serious attention to these
rocky hazard warnings until if/when they get a reboot.

Conditions Notes:
In The Groomed:
Very fine to excellent throughout the entire range
of freshly groomed trails. The typical characteristic
qualities of super-cool cryogenic snow continue on
with a ever-so-slight elevation of friction that 98%
of folks will not recognize as anything other than
the very easy ability to apply control moves like
stopping, braking, directional changes, etc..
For snowboarders the main takeaway from that
is that you need to pump the board on final pitches
or runouts in order build speed to traverse plateaus
or shallower slopes without having to take a foot out
because while there is exceptional grip/control, there
is just not as much glide.
In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:
Generally very fine to excellent, however there are
some zones particularly in the Un-Groomed as pictured
above where there are Ski Patrol labeled very challenging
and hazardous situations in narrow trail confines due to
mixed Ski/Board traffic wear that generate very irregular
bumps without discernible rhythm, sometimes over bits
of rock. They may not be visible from above. Typically
these trails get a periodic re-boot/levelling grooming
that resets them for weeks, so keep an eye out for those
icons on the Official list for potential utility upgrades.
In the meantime, some of the Hors Piste zones have
amazing depth coverage and the thickness of the newest
fallen snow is fabulously forgiving for bushwhackers who
revel in powder line descents where gravity and speed can
be offset by the resistance from the depth your skis sink into.

Bonjour Tremblant! The weather forecasts fresh snow of at least 10 cm,
bringing a nice layer for skiers and snowboarders, perfect for enjoying
a pleasant day on the slopes. This new snow will cover the trails and
create perfect conditions for carving beautiful lines. Powder lovers
will have the chance to enjoy optimal conditions. Due to the major
cold spell affecting the resort, the Duncan and Soleil lifts are delayed,
as well as the opening of the Soleil side. But don’t worry, this just
means a little more fun later on!
The first tracks on the north side will be made on the Expo and
Lowell lifts. Expect great conditions in these areas, but be cautious
of reduced visibility due to the wind. The cold will be present, but
it only adds to the magic of this winter day. Make sure to dress warmly
to stay comfortable and enjoy every run. Perfect conditions are here,
so don’t wait any longer and let yourself be carried away by this
beautiful winter day!
