102(*) Open Trails.

--------- 8:47 A.M. Insert Update: -----------

Please Note: At this time there is severe Storm disruption
to Versant Sud/South Side Logistics. The Cabriolet is not
running, buses are stuck and not operating and people
are having to walk the entire distance from Base parking
levels, up the entire hill to the Gondola Base. The wind
loads are so great that skis need to be kept inside the
Gondola on the way up.

The Weather Is The News.

Big, Big, Huge Snowstorm Going On Now.

There is some statistical probability that this
huge Snowstorm may be the single largest
historic snowfall event of the entire season.

There Will Be Snow-Drifting Features Today Of Half A Meter(20 inches),
Or More, Over The Immaculate Groomed Base.

Lets call the Banzai pic above “Before” because both of these
trails were groomed identically level, square and perfectly
smooth. This one below we’ll call “After” as it is real-time
NOW, all this snow, in some places over your knees, in
less than 18 hours.

Weather Notes:

Well, at least it’s not super-cold outside,
however with these wind gusts that will be
over 50 kmph at elevations, it may seem
like you’re standing on top of the North Pole
at times...

Conditions Notes:

Generally:

This is not “easy” snow because of the abundant
depth. It is absolutely wonderful “workout” snow
and the amount of energy required to navigate
will be immediately apparent. For that reason you
need to be very tuned in to your fatigue threshold
because it may come both sooner, and more suddenly
than you think. At that point, potential for accidents
instantly becomes significantly higher than average.

In The Groomed:

In a lot of places, very little evidence of grooming
due to steady, heavy, continuously falling thick
snowfall.

“Steady, heavy, continuously falling thick
snowfall” favours legitimate Expert skills
and experience.

Beginners need to be extremely cautious and
stick to reduced challenge as much as possible.
Follow your Ski Instructor’s directions closely.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

Almost everything looks like Hors Piste or Un-Groomed,
regardless of any Official designations. That’s a lotta snow!!!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
