Weather Notes:

Any way you cut it, it gunna be a KKkkool one, all day.

Layers and overlaps in exterior garment systems will be critical.

Make sure every square cm/fraction of an inch is securely
closed off, BEFORE you go out the door... ZERO Exposed Skin Caveat.

The “kicker” here today is going to be the wind-chill.
At projected Summit peak wind gust velocities, the effective
temp. exposure may reach -38C. It be “Howler” potential...

Conditions Notes:

Generally:

The skiing will be clinically excellent.

The challenge will be the ability to stay
warm enough to enjoy it for anything
more than a couple of runs at a time.

-------- Extreme Wind-Chill Caveat: ------------

Wind-chill to mid-minus 30’s C may be frequently
encountered in peak wind gust exposures. Caution
is advised for small children.

Cycle On The Gondola Notice:

Best Chance Of Mechanical Advantage... riding up in a wind-proof bubble.

We are bit surprised that that there may not have been
a cold-delay start to the Duncan/Soleil Quad’s this
morning as any extended time span if stopped for
any reason, wind load or mechanical, would be a
quickly escalating wind-chill exposure concern.

In The Groomed:

10 cm’s of fresh overnight is a grooming standard
for optimized compacted density in one pass. The
fact that it’s so cold will generate an extremely dry
crystalline snow particle that will only be bonded by
12,000 Lbs of mechanical pressure from the weight
of the groomer and as such there will be fantastically
easy and forgiving control move efficacy.

Notwithstanding the cold, a phenomenally fine technical
ski experience of pure cryogenically unique performance.

In The Sous Bois/Hors Piste/Glades and Un-Groomed:

10 cm’s is exactly what the Doctor ordered to refresh
the whole Sous Bois group range, however... there will
absolutely be wind-shaped benefit and not-so-much
from side-to-side as well as top-to-bottom, so it will
be a fingerprint of experience requiring cautious
explorations.

Do not blast over crests or contours you can’t clearly see
below. The depths of contoured snow can go from either
deep or shallow to either shallow or deep in a handful of
metres with huge differences in forward speed happening
in a heartbeat.

If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

 If you “Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.
