Very High Quality, Early Season Surfaces.

Just ask these guy's...

Hundreds of members of the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance
gathered at Tremblant yesterday and they were all smiling as
they got to sample our great early season conditions.

Open Trail count remains at 7, so we have the same 4 basic paths to descend
today, namely, P'tit Bonheur to Lowell Thomas, Nansen, Beauvallon and
Alpine to the TGV.

Snow surfaces are in excellent shape and you should make every effort to
get out and enjoy what we have.

The weather today is forecasted to be partially sunny with a base level
high temp of about -2C. The summit will reach -7C or so and the winds
should be moderate at 20 Km, from the North-West, or coming up
Beauvallon. Those wind speeds will want you to bundle up a bit for
comfort, although riding up the TGV, you should have the wind
at your back.

We are recommending you use caution with speed as there are both
traffic and the odd hazard out there that require careful navigation.
The Ski and Board schools all have lot's of students, there are beginners
and experts alike all moving through the same spaces. Some areas where
runs constrict, such as the last pitch on P'tit Bonheur as it comes to the
Beauchemin run-out to the Lowell Thomas triple, can be a bit slick underfoot,
so please use caution appropriate for the conditions.

A week from now, we'll be right in the hight of all the 24Hour
Children's Charity Fundraiser, so this week Mountain Crews
will be putting in maximum effort to get Top to Bottom
snow in pace to run the big event. This pic below shows
all the snowmaking going on in preparation on Johannsen
at the South Side base, which has just started this morning.

Tremblant has great carving on beautifully prepared
surfaces of fine, dry, natural and blown snow.

Tremblant Summit Natural Snow Sample

This very fine, dry natural snow has been groomed in with
the blown snow to produce a base that has a very good
grip level. Edge set with skis or boards is excellent, so
the carving is winter quality on our open terrain.

As usual, great exercise and loads of fresh air will do you
a world of good.

They had the big equipment out today and if it keeps
on snowing at this rate, they'll need to be driving it
quite a bit tonight.

Wintery Trail-side Views are very "Post Card" like and when
you're on the runs, there is a quiet peaceful ambiance.

Riding up the lifts was not to bad with the wind, but you
could definitely feel it at the top of Lowell Thomas.

All things considered... another fine day at Tremblant...
and if it keeps on snowing like this, tomorrow will be even better...
