"Private Club" ...next 3 days at Tremblant.
Enjoy it while you can.
Riding up or down the Gondola, the work being done on the South Side
to prepare for the 24 Hour Children's Charity Fundraiser can clearly be
seen. In this shot, the snowmaking appears as a "cloud", screen right.
Official Open Trail count down 2 to 6 today, because of preparations
to Nansen for the 24 hr fundraiser, so we're left with Alpine and
Beauvallon down to the TGV and P'tit Bonheur down to Lowell
Thomas. Limited runs or not, the surfaces should be exceptional!
The weather will be a copy of yesterday, overcast, snowy, moderate
west winds that you will want to bundle up for on the lifts. Temps
will be about-2C at base and -9C at summit. Due to the wind
swirling around up at the summit, it may seem cooler than it is.
Staying comfortable is in the details like keeping air gaps around
neck, head, wrists and waist completely sealed off.
For all the lucky people at Tremblant this week, the next 3 days are
going to seem like they have the Mountain to themselves, that's why
the "Private Club" comment.
After those 3 days though, things are going to start getting busy as
the 24 Hours Children's Charity Fundraiser begins to take shape.
Participants, Media, Sponsors, Support Staff, Spectators and anyone
else that you can think of associated with the big event will be rolling
into town to set up camp, start training, and get organized. Thousands
of people involved under any of the above categories, will be descending
on Tremblant starting on Thursday (or maybe even sooner) and for
those that were enjoying the quiet of the early week....
It won't seem like a "Private Club" after that.
All for a good cause though, so just as we've done in the past, we'll
Cheer them all on and give them our full understanding!
Fear not though, loyal Tremblant fans, there will be more open terrain
to compensate for all the Mountain space taken up by the 24 Hr., so
we are going to be skiing on new ground very, very soon.
Tons of Snowmaking on the North Side. Crews working here on
Trail # 69, Rigodon, off of Lowell Thomas yesterday. Official Trail and Grooming status, courtesy of http://www.tremblant.ca You will need to protect and maintain your clear vision for safety.
Just Goggle It!
