(Page under construction @ 4:15 a.m. for regional travelers
to Tremblant... Hurry up, get going, it's gunna be a great day
@ Tremblant! )
More Open Trails @ Tremblant Today!
There aren't many things that sound sweeter to Tremblant
Skiers and Boarders than this kind of news.
13 Open Trails on the Official count this morning, and it's
a great list, indeed.
Some are "Progressive" or gradual openings, which means they will
probably come on-line during the day, and/or they might not be open
first thing in the morning, but they are on the way. At the beginning
of the season, we're delighted that there's this much expansion in the
open terrain.
On the South Side, the big news would be McCulloch coming on-line.
At this stage, both McCulloch and Charron (which would be needed in
combination to reach the TGV), are listed as "Progressive", but they
don't put it on the list unless they think they can open it, so we hope
to include info regarding these two Apres Ski.
Similarly, on the North Side, Rope Tow and Rigodon are scheduled for
"Progressive" opening during the day. North Side Park fans will be very
happy to hear that news! Follow-up on these at Apres Ski too...
All open runs will be in fine, fine shape today! There's nothing like
"Squeaky" cold snow in the morning for ultimate grip and control.
We predict fantastic carving conditions!
One aspect of this news that's encouraging is that the expansion of
publicly available trails is going on at the same time as the preparations
for the 24 Hour Children's Charity Fundraiser are being finalized. This is likely
due to the abundance of natural snow we've gotten in the last week. If things
had been really "tight" in terms of snow resources, we just would not be seeing
all this new area opened up.
Fantastic news that begins to add up to a very good season taking shape.
That's a really important factor if you're sitting in London, England or
on Long Island, New York and you're deciding to come to Tremblant.
Establishing an early, solid base is the biggest component in the long
term stability and quality of Tremblant's season, a good reason to firm
up your plans now.
Back to today for a moment... it's about -22C here in St.Jovite right now,
so we're going to need to bundle up a bit this morning. Bring your face
mask, it's going to be one of those "Squeaky" cold mornings. Things will
warm up soon enough, probably by early afternoon.
Temps are forecasted to be on the rise through the day moving up
from a chilly -17C this a.m. to -12C by mid-day. Overcast skies with
the chance of flurries. The wind has changed direction from the past
few days and in now going to be moderate and from the South East,
moving across the summit from the Duncan Side, towards Nansen.
The big weather story, for all Tremblant Mountain users, but particularly
the 24 Hour participants, is the gradual warming trend over the next
couple of days that will not only make it a lot more comfortable for those
that have to ski or board through the night, but maybe even more importantly,
is bringing the chance of a BIG natural snowfall.
Snowfall of up to 36 CM is predicted
by Monday eve., the biggest portion
of which, should be on Sunday.
We love it!

If you're planning on getting out for the weekend,
there's going to be lots of new open terrain.
In our opinion, the biggest potential news would
be the opening of the Expo Quad and "Top to Bottom"
on the North Side. With Gagnon and the North side base
still on the Snowmaking list, there is a chance, so we will
update as soon as possible.
Are we close to North Side Opening???
...Stay Tuned!!!
"Bonne Chance" Mountain Crews!
We hope you can get it done!

Page under evolutionary construction. Many pic's to evaluate,
Much EXCELLENT NEWS!, so we'll start with the news first...
MOUNTAIN OPEN 'til 3:30 P.M.!!!
NORTH SIDE OPEN
"TOP TO BOTTOM"!!!
"EXPO" HIGH SPEED DETACHABLE
QUAD CHAIRLIFT OPEN TOMORROW!.
Beauchemin Opened "Top To Bottom"
Tomorrow Morning!!!
Carving Conditions At Tremblant are Very High Quality.*
McCulloch OPEN! Lowell Thomas, La Traverse OPEN! 24 Hour Team members working to get things done! If you want to get out for the weekend, things should be fine.
With the North Side open, it will take a huge amount of pressure
off the South Side with all the Children's Charity Fundraiser
activity.
The Skiing and Boarding is Excellent Early Season Conditions.
There were still powder shots on North trail sides at "Last Run"!
*Caveat:
There are some "slippery" spots in some high traffic zones,
at run intersections, and/or steeper pitches.
Very Minor...
You need to be careful with speed until you can verify
surface conditions in these areas first.
You also need to watch out for other traffic, there are
lots of beginners/intermediates cruzzin' at high velocity!
As stated above, page construction "evolutionary",
meaning, on the go... as time permits... etc., check back
when ever you can... Multiple pic's to be added. We're
attending the 24 Hour Kickoff Activity at the Summit this eve.
