From the "Last Run'" archives this Web Cam Snap Shot
from yesterday afternoon at 4:04 P.M.,tells a Huge story...

Here's what you get at Tremblant today.....

So then, when you have a Web Cam Pic. that looks like that...
Here's a sample in a little bigger format of how that will look

Today's weather starts out at a nippy little -15C, but under
variably sunny skies, will move nicely up to -9C by shortly after
lunch. The winds are forecasted to be moderate and from the
North-West, or coming up Nansen, then moving across the summit
towards Duncan.

You should be able to find quiet, trail-side sunny spots where
you can soak up some solar thermal energy, particularly
on the North side below the summit where there should also be
shelter from the breezes.

-----------------------------------------------------

Please Note: There will probably be several up-dates in due course
with all that's going on here over Christmas, so check back often and
we'll do our best to keep you informed with verified info.
See "Duncan" news below.

59 (*) Open Trails on the list today with zero
"Race" or "Progressive's", so we get access to
the entire inventory without restriction.

We're going to nominate Beauchemin Haut (upper)
for best carving early this morning because according to
the Official http://www.tremblant.ca Snow Report, Beauchemin
Haut got "Winch Groomed" last night which means it
should pretty much be as smooth as a billiard table
right now!

For those that might not be familiar with the "Winch Groomed"
term, it means they secure the Packer/Groomer to the top of
the run with a cable and then they can "Winch" the machine
up or down the fall line as straight as an arrow. The result is
a very uniform, flat, as close to perfect as you can get, surface.
The edge set, carving and control properties of these surfaces is
typically, the highest possible quality.

DUNCAN NEWS:

Unfortunately, we have to report that the Duncan Quad Chair Lift is not
going to be operational until at least the 29th of December. After the recent
Accidental fire that took out the Summit Duncan Control Cabin, everyone
had high hopes that with the quick delivery of a new Modular "Plug 'n Play"
control cabin, that things could be switched on for Christmas. The problem
has been that with the record snowy/blizzard weather that has virtually
shut down European air traffic, essential parts that are needed from the
Austrian manufacturer are tied up in transit and we just won't see them
for a few days until this massive backlog gets cleared.

Anybody that's been watching the news recently knows that people in
Europe have been sleeping in Airports because no one can fly due to
this continuously foul weather they have experienced, so as disappointing as
it is, there's nothing they can do at this stage but wait for the parts to get here.

We will attach the Tremblant.ca press release on this below as a reply to this
post.

In practical terms, what this means to Tremblant guests is that
there will be additional strain on the uphill capacity on the North Side
that ultimately will effect all lifts due to the volume of Holiday attendance.
We are going to need to have extra patience for some lifts like
Lowell Thomas that are going to be busy.

If it's possible for the Mountain Crews to open Soleil and the Edge, that
will be a huge help, so stay tuned here for further developments. It's too
early to tell yet how this will all play out for Christmas, so don't be
put off if you already have plans to be here.

We do think it would be wise to get out early if possible, it should still
be easy to get in some quick laps first thing before the general population
gets here at 10:a.m. or so.
