82(*) Open and Progressive opens on the Official
http://www.tremblant.ca Snow Report this morning.
We can expect some whacky weather today with anything from
freezing rain to full out snow. This warm "Blip" in the forecast
is predicted to span 30 hours between this morning to tomorrow
afternoon.
It might be easy to be bummed out over the possibility of rain,
but, we would like to point out that it is possible that due to the
typical 4 or 5 degree cooler summit temp, that Tremblant's
Summit could see Snow!
If there was an orographic characteristic, the entire North Side
could see Snow!
We're optimists so we're going to hope for the best and get out
to enjoy today no matter what.
At the very least, it will be a nice day of 'Spring Like" conditions.

Early Noon Up-Date:
Open trails revised to 78, haven't looked at specifics yet, but hope to
do so at some point.
Regardless, there's still great skiing out there
no matter what. You just have to be prepared for it.
There will be some that will say...
"like hey mon, eeet's a better day
ta bee in front 'o 'da fireplace"
(Caribbean beach accent)
Wrong!!!
Today can be just as excellent as any other day at Tremblant. Period.
We have written it here before and we'll write it again:
we've had some of our best days on the Mountain when it's
exactly like this.
First, you need to be prepared for the weather with the appropriate
layers of technical garments designed for these conditions.

Then, you just need to get out there and focus on Technique
and working with the properties of the surface to learn
or figure out the best way to navigate on them.
Another way to be properly prepared for today is to have the right
base wax or polymer coating on your skis or board.
Toko and Swix, for example, make ski/board waxes for specific
temperature ranges including wet/rain temps., that perform
brilliantly, reducing friction and improving glide.
On another point:
You need to explore the whole Mountain carefully on a day like
today in order to determine where the best conditions for you
are.
Tremblant has 4 sides and 2116 ft of vertical elevation.
You will find completely different weather in different sectors
some days, so you may not assume that things are the same all over.
Get out there anyway, just be smart and do it with the right gear
and a positive attitude. You will have a good day if you give yourself
permisssion.
