with a good selection of terrain for all skill levels.

Conditions on the open terrain are fast and very good on the whole,
however, there may be the odd glitch, so be careful with speed until
you've checked it all out.

Here's a nice descriptive Web Cam snapshot, courtesy
of http://www.tremblant.ca that shows the steady, small snow
accumulations we've been getting recently. The best indicator
of the snowfall quality in our experience, is the snow in the trees.

Love Them Bumps!



The "Bump Park"

We Love the way Expo is developed by the strategic placement
of the SnowMakers so that they are stationary long enough to create these
large bumps. This is an extremely effective, efficient way to cover
the inherently uneven surface of Expo.

Many moons ago, even in a good snow year, it could take to the middle
or end of January to get enough natural coverage to Ski Expo without
severe hazard exposure.

Now, they just bury it under a big bump, let it settle for a few hours,
then winch groom Expo from Top to Bottom, to an almost perfect,
smooth, super quality surface that is just about as flat as a Billiard Table.

This strategy is brilliant. We estimate that it substantially reduces
time, labour, and other resources, so as well as the exceptional surface
quality, we think it probably saves a lot of money too.

There are those that have been vocally negative towards these bumps,
but we think the advantages in very practical resource management,
far, far out-weigh the usually brief time between when the guns shut off
and the Groomers blades drop to flatten it out.

There are many that enjoy skiing those bumps, if they are allowed.
We have heard people raving about how much fun they are as a terrain
feature. We're going to call it a "Bump Park".
