Let's take a look at some of the primary reasons
we'll have one of the best Spring Skiing seasons ever....

This pic. is 48 hours old now, but the scene is exactly the same,
at least until today, if it does not get too warm up top. Regardless
though, the underlying truth of the matter is that we have a wonderfully
deep, late season base that is going to give us beautiful conditions
right up to end of the season. This Pic also very nicely illustrates
the "Blowing and Drifting" factor that always accompanies snowfall
with wind. This very deep drift has bridged a gap between a section of
undergrowth and the tree trunk on the left. All you need to do is scale
this idea up to the size of Tremblant and you will have a better
understanding of how the "Blowing and Drifting" factor effects the
different sides of the whole Mountain.

Here's more proof of holding stable conditions...

This first photo was take on Saturday at last run. It is a picture of
the snow in the trees at the Summit that are located behind the
small building extension of the Ski Patrol's H/Q. From this angle
and close up, it is a rather picturesque look at both the structure
as well as the snow, the trees, and just how much accumulation
we have here at Tremblant right now.

This second photo is the wide angle panoramic showing the entire
sector from the Summit Lowell Thomas triple chair off-loading zone,
right across to the Summit Ski Patrol H/Q, including the Summit
Info. Crew Station and Trail Map. The Picture above can be seen as the
center of this wide angle.

This third photo is a Web Cam Snap Shot, courtesy of http://www.tremblant.ca ,
taken this morning. It is an overhead angle of the same structure as can
be seen as the small white roofline in the lower portion, with the trees
on the right side of the pic, that are shown as behind in the two pic's above.
What is important here is that there is still snow in the trees. When Temps go
"Above" freezing, this snow in the trees melts within a few short hours, so when
we can see that it is still there to a degree after 3 days, it is a very good sign
of stable, holding conditions.

Here's sort of a humorous way of illustrating the make-up of the
base we are enjoying today...

Last Thursday we got a ton of fresh snow, so on Friday there was
quite a bit of R&D needing to be done. In the course of investigating
snow quality on the lower North side, one of our T360 forum members
"caught an edge". Here's the result...

In this second picture, you can see the cavity left by the abrupt
"Face Plawnt" of our English friend. We still have all this snow on
the North today, but of course, each day the Mountain Crews are
packing and grooming it into the base.

Despite the velocity our friend had on impact(it was a beautiful, slow-mo
arch, face first into this very fluffy snow), the energy absorption properties
of this extremely soft snow were more than enough to make it a harmless
event. She had a hard time controlling her laughter at the time. Just like
being a kid again!

The two above pic's were taken on Sissy Schuss's side door,
coming in from Gagnon.

Page still under construction, but in the mean-time,
you should be making your plans to get to Tremblant
as soon as possible in order to take part in all the
Spring activity as well as ski/board the fine conditions.

This will be a very fine Spring Ski Season.
