"Saved By The Bell"
An expression meaning that you avoided an
unfavourable event by being on the right side
of a time or event marker.
In this case, we're referring to the temperature, which at this stage is just
below freezing, so we are avoiding a thaw that could begin if it was even a
couple of degrees warmer.
Even if the temp creeps up to "+", it would be just barely and that's at base
level. The summit of Tremblant is typically 4 to 5 degrees C lower, so even
then, the Summit is usually safe.
Still showing Snow in the Summit trees this morning. What this means to Tremblant Mountain users is the preservation of
predominantly "Winter" surfaces as opposed to "Spring" surfaces. The
major difference being moisture content. The benefit is in the quality
and quantity of coverage that will be durable in the forthcoming
"Spring" ski season.
Every day we get that helps to keep snow dry, is a good day. It's not
that it will give us a longer season, closing date is predetermined far in
advance, but it will have a definite impact on how much terrain will be
open, and how good the quality of that open terrain will be.
On those accounts, we feel that Tremblant will have an outstandingly
high quality "Spring".
If you are considering plans to visit Tremblant, do not hesitate any further,
the surfaces within all rated skill levels are superb and Tremblant Mountain
Crews are to be thanked for the dedication and quality that they have
maintained.
The edge-set, grip and carving properties of the surfaces we have now
are top level and when you combine that with the vast acreage of open
terrain, you pretty much have the perfect conditions for a fabulous Spring!
