We'll try to have more up later if time permits, but..
What a beautiful, cool, crisp early Tremblant winter day!
The ropes came down about 1:30 and we got
to ski Versant Sud, South side, down to the TGV.
Anytime your daily intake of scenery includes this,
you're havin' a good day... Run du Jour Award..... Goes to P'tit Bonheur!
Immaculate, fast, grip, carving perfection.
This run keeps on delivering what we think are the
finest pre-season training surfaces in the Laurentian's.
People young and old were rippin' up P'tit Bonheur
at a high rate of speed (if there was no one else around)
and finding excellent traction while doing it.
Congratulations Tremblant on over 1.8 Million dollars
for the beneficiaries of the 24 Hour Children's Charity
Fundraising Marathon!
South Side Open Top-To-Bottom Tomorrow!
--------------------------------------------------------------
Late Morning Up-Date...
With only minutes left in the 24Hour, participants make the
final sprint to the finish line. We'll have more, Apres Ski, but until then, off to ski
for the afternoon!

12(*) Open Trails on 24Hour Racy Tremblant!
This is the one day of the year we can actually begin reporting
on at the stroke of mid-night as the 24Hour event goes on through
the night.
This first pic below is from 1:56 A.M. on a beautifully crisp,
star lit night.
8 of the 12 open are on the South, supporting the 24Hour
Children's Charity Fundraiser... The other 4 are on the North supporting all the Guest
visits of those out for a day on the slopes. Here's a shot of
the final portion of LaTraverse as it intersects with
Beauchemin. Park Modules getting lots of use. There is no question that the dampness of the warm spell
that ended about 3 days ago has effected the base which
is very firm and has some icy sectors.
Today will be better than yesterday in that regard as traffic
and overnight grooming gradually help to loosen things up.
We found enough soft snow on the sides of runs to almost completely
avoid the icy bits, however, proper care and control must be
maintained with speed at all times. When there's this kind of
firm base around it almost goes without saying that fresh tuned edges
are critical for control input on steering and braking.
Continued from yesterday....
12(*) Open Trails on the Official, Downloadable PDF,
Trail and Grooming status report, Courtesy of
Tremblant.ca If everything goes well today, we could see
tremendous expansion of the Open terrain
for all Tremblant Alpine Winter Skiers/Boarders
as the 24Hour Charity Fundraiser course may
be accessible after the event ends at noon.
A Note of Logistical Thanks to an event sponsor,
VW Canada, who provide what we're calling a
"Courtesy Corral" free priority parking for VW owners,
right in front of the Cabriolet. Our old Golf is filled with Skis, Boots, tripods and just
generally loaded down with all things that Skiers need
to lug around, so when it gets a break for something as
important as "Front Row Centre" parking so we can access
our gear all day without having to walk miles....
We say "Thanks VW Canada!" This is a great program
and we hope you keep it up!
The super friendly VW rep's included local Laurentian TV
Host Dominic LaVoie making everyone feel welcome.
