Pic. From Feb 4Th at last run as Le Peintre Normandeau
gets ready to head home from his studio!

Normadeau loves to work at the source of his inspiration and
it's not uncommon to see him at various trail side locations
with easel, canvas and brush, working on his latest scene.

Today is indeed the kind of day that defines Winter, Tremblant and a Great Season.

Natures Beauty, Recent and Abundant Snowfall, as well as the
Skills of Tremblant's Mountain Operations Crews combine to
give us a day that highlights them all.

Brilliant Sunshine, and Very easy -7 C, but enjoyment will be maximized
with properly overlapped garment layers that keep heat in and wind out
due to brisk breezes.

This pesky little wind is coming to us from the Nor-West, so you'll
definitely feel it as you move down La Crete from the Summit toward
Nansen where you'll come to face it, head on.

There will be wind sheltered areas, and wind sheltered areas with Ton's 'o Sun,
so part of your enjoyment is going to be in exploring to find the best
vantage points for Trail-Side scenic photography with enough calm
from the wind to allow fingers to work camera settings for a few moments.

The Skiing/Boarding are going to be exceptional for not only today, but for the
next 2 weeks as The Weather Network is projecting nothing but "Winter",
no day-time highs over -5 C for near 2 week future.

This will allow Mountain Crews to really get into the fine tuning of Tremblant's
groomed Alpine Trails. There's more than enough snow to work their magic,
so get ready for "Great"!

Don't forget that if you want rapid progress in your
learning curve at any level, Tremblant's World Renowned
Snow School can hook you up with a fast track to "Better"!

Conditions Caveat:

There will be glitches in the form of natural occurring slick
or icy sections, so you need to use caution with speed on
initial explorations. The occurrence of these glitches should
become apparent to you as patterns in steeper or wind exposed
areas, or areas of concentrated traffic such as trail run outs,
or right down the centre of some pitches. Look to the sides of
trails for softer snow and make longer traverses to facilitate
turns in those grippier outboard margins.

Look out for others who may come into your path, and every
once in a while, if you're in a predictable Slick zone, scan around
and behind you for traffic avoidance.

Take it easy, and have fun!

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If You  "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)

Besides technique advancements, we learned that no matter how many
sunny days we have, we never get tired of another one...

Algonquin, which has been very nicely Groomed for several days now,
Skis like a dream, a dream of soft, forgiving snow that is very reliable
for edge hold. If you want to practice a bit of endurance cruising, give
Algonquin a "Top To Bottom" try.

We talked about Picture Perfect Tremblant scenery in the
morning report and the day itself lived up to all of that.
The Summit views were Spectacularly Sunny.
