Tonights Apres Ski is a 2 item Utility Notice(and draft of tomorrow
morning's report), as follows:
Item #1...
The "Only Way" to buy new Alpine Snow Sports Gear....
Go To Super Demo Day Tomorrow!!!
In an age where so many Skis/Boards are sold out of "BigBoxSportsCo"
in local suburban malls, and never see a snowflake until way after
they're bought, Super Demo Day is a genuine opportunity to
"Try Before You Buy".
Many BigBox retailers want you to believe that it's possible to purchase
appropriate gear without trying it. They have very convincing processes
that match gear with how you tell them you Ski or Board, but there's no
process on Earth that equals the experience of skiing different manufactures
products, one after another.
Super Demo Day gives you the benefit of that opportunity.
Here's a sample of the kinds of Skis you'll be able to demo
tomorrow, right from the foot of Johannsen, at the Resort Base
adjacent to the Gondola loading zone.
JF at the Solomon store, is shown below holding a pair of Solomon
high performance slalom skis. Like every single Ski brand rep we
know at Tremblant, his product knowledge is exceptional and
based on experience and use.
Front and centre in the Solomon lineup of great skis is the BBR,
shown below as the Big Blue Skis with the very dramatic sidecut.
These skis are among the forefront of current designs featuring
a rocker, or reverse camber at the wide tip. The benefit to this
configuration is the ability of the ski to initiate turns very easily
as well as track through mixed or uneven surface irregularities
with more stability.
While we're featuring Solomon here for sample purposes, you'll find
a wide selection of major Ski industry brands at Super Demo Day.
Item #2:
If you can't remember when you got your Skis/Board Tuned Up...
Do It Now....
We heard some complaints today about icy sectors, but when we asked,
the individuals couldn't remember when they'd had a tuneup, as in "Years Ago"
OMG!!! What are you thinking??? Ski/Board edge performance degrades
gradually with use and a tuneup every 10 to 15 days of Ski/Board use will
make you better on the slopes!!!
You'll have GRIP!!!
Located at the base loading zone of the Cabriolet, on the right hand
side, the Tremblant Ski/Board Service Repair Centre is located in the Chalet
des Voyageurs, and they have...
The Wintersteiger Discovery 3 Axis Automated Ski Tuner.
The machine they have is one of only two in the whole region.
It is the best machine you can get, and is basically the Ski Tuners Ultimate
dream. Fully automated and programmed to deliver maximum dimensional
accuracy, every single time.
You can get this done at the Chalet des Voyageurs, right beside the Cabriolet
Base loading zone.

29(*) Open Trails on Winter White Slopes at Tremblant!
Last Run Summit Panoramic. 12/13/12 When it looks like this on your way down
at last run, your brain is already telling
yourself what kind of an excellent day
tomorrow will be!
That's Today!!!
And This Could Be You... All Day Long....
Run after Run after Run after Run after Run after Run after Run....
(Our thanks to Bubelan on Twitter, for being our Ski demo "victim"
on the 12th. He and his merry little Band of Bandit Bombers from
Toronto were rippin' up the Mountain in full on training mode. There's
a pic of the Bandits below... Excellent Skiers Too!) Imagine that.... all day long making sweet turns of speed, each one
carved out with the surgical precision of a sharp scalpel on butter
soft surfaces that go on for miles and miles and km after km's!
That Is Tremblant Today. Period.
And Under Sunny Sky's...
That will be the whole weekend too!!!

Please Note: Ambient photo conditions above, include Blown and Natural
Snowcloud, Fog, Fast Moving Objects, Backwards Skiing photographer,
vibration, Blind without glasses automatic camera settings, harsh
contrast elements, Flat Light, Whacky White Balances, etc.,
... but we love'em anyway!!!
Today's Weather....
Quite mild at -2C under initially overcast sky's with the possibility
of partial clearing and some sunny breaks in the afternoon.
Currently, at least in St. Jovite, we've got some lazy snowfall
gently settling on things for a nice white accent.
Winds are presently light and from the South-West, so coming up
the Mountain from the Soleil sector and crossing the Summit towards
the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair off-load zone.
We are looking for a cold front to move into the area later on, that's why
there may be some sun, and with that, there will be a shift in wind direction
towards the North-West that will probably also see wind speeds pick up
to the moderate level with some gusting.
The cool temps could mean some great Snowmaking conditions, so
maybe we'll see some of that over the weekend too.
How many ways can we say it.....
These are truly amazing days at Tremblant.
Clear off your desk, clear off your calendar,
and head clear out'a town for these very fine slopes.
If you're sitting in Laval, Ottawa, Oshawa, Syracuse, Burlington
Rawdon, Boston, Rochester, Perth, Hull or any other place that's within
a short drive....
Toss 'yer gear in the vehicle and hit the road for
Tremblant.... NOW!!!
Check out this great List of Open Trails below...
Tremblant continues to be in exceptional shape for
this still early, Pre-Christmas portion of the season.
