Attention Regional Tremblant Fans...
Here are 3 Main Reasons You Need To Get Up at 5:00 A.M.
and Proceed Immediately to Tremblant...
1) Snow...
Not a "Blizzard" Per say, but obviously falling very vigorously
for much of the Afternoon... 2) Snow...
And Still Falling At Last Run.... 3) Snow...
Drifting and accumulating primarily on Summit and Versant Nord,
the North Side, but on Upper South Sectors too. If you could be here...
Why Would You Want To Miss Any Of This? Tomorrow could arguably be one of the finest days of the season.
Not a deep powder day, but unquestionably a very finely refreshed
day that should offer Smoothness, Traction and Glitch Free Groomed
Terrain quite suitable for technically proficient Carving Laps by the dozen.
Based on our experience with the Tremblant FLAIK, Integrated GPS/Cell
Time, Distance, Vertical Calculator System(**), we would estimate
that tomorrow could easily be a 30,000 Vertical Foot Day!!!
That's a TON of Skiing!
There may be some interesting localized drifting features, however,
accumulations will do more to enhance smoothness and shred depth
where they occur.
Do whatever you need to, but think of something quick and get
the vehicle fuelled and packed tonight.
You'll need to make a quiet escape before anyone knows you've gone...

95/95(*) Open Trails on the somewhat warmer, slightly
overcast and supposed to get more snow, 4 sides of Tremblant!
Oh Boy! It's only Minus 16 C, This Morning!
That's about 13C Warmer than Yesterday Mornings brilliant Sun,
so in a way, it feels like it's only half as cool, and a lot easier to take.
It's supposed to reach a day-time high of -8C.... we'll see....

Good Skiers at Tremblant are World Class... See our Blog on Erik Guay...
Standing at the top of Versant Soleil's trademark Roller-Coaster trail
"Toboggan" We saw this person approaching while demonstrating
a very clear level of High Performance Carving Technique. An Excellent
Skier. Moving very quickly, but with the obvious confidence of someone
who is very comfortable and very capable at the top levels of Speed,
Control and Text Book Form, all done with ease and a fluid smooth
motion that would be considered by many to be very close to ideal.
In the midst of all that, and we did not even see it until we processed the pic.
later, this Excellent Skier had time to raise a hand with a friendly wave,
just for an instant, as they whizzed by.
Hello to you too!
Every once in a while, there's a Snap Shot you have no idea
will come out at all, that turns out very nicely, and this is one of those.
Spontaneous Snap Shots are often never well focused, well framed, steady
or any other desirable elements, but we do it anyway, just because trying
to capture a fleeting moment of excellence is always worth the risk and effort.
What we were looking for was the side profile which was showing a graceful
athletic ideal of body position through the middle of the carved turn, but
moving so fast, and us fumbling with settings, by the time the camera locked in,
we got this by literally "Point and Shoot" completely un-composed, unintended
luck, so we're glad we did not get what we wanted because the wave represents
the Joy Of The Day in the very motion of the Spontaneous Greeting.
Who knows if the person will ever see this pic., but if they do, Thanks for
the wave... we appreciate it and it made our day!
Moving on....
We lost weight last week. There's no doubt it takes quite a bit of
energy to ski every day in very cold conditions, but we're reasoning
that there are 2 very large drains on personal reserves that can result in
weight loss.
1) Muscle power required to perform the sport, particularly with
the added bulk of additional layers and their weight. It may not seem
like much, but it all takes energy to carry around for the day.
2) Metabolic stasis. The human machine maintains "+" 37 Degrees Celsius
(98.6 degrees F), and when the ambient is "-" 30 C, we're reasoning that
maintaining core body temperature when there is that kind of spread, is a
significant factor that contributes to overall energy consumption.
If there's anyone in the world of Human Sciences that can speak about that
reading this, we'd welcome any "Peer Reviewed" Quality Comments...
Soleil on Soleil Surfaces exactly as excellent as they look.
So, if we're correct, Skiing/Boarding Very Cool Conditions not only rewards
you with some of the finest Snow Surface Performance, but it can be a
healthy part of a weight loss program when energy expended exceeds
intake over a prolonged period of time.
One remarkable aspect of this phenomenon is that the exhilaration of performing
the sport almost completely distracts you from any sense of muscle strain,
for a while, at least, so you press on beyond effort levels you might make at a
gym, because you often don't notice the effects until later. Any motivation to
go "Above and Beyond" can be a good thing for fitness.
Skiing/Boarding Tremblant certainly contributes very positively to any
personal fitness and health optimization program.
Today will see increases from yesterday's very fine conditions with additional
speed due to better glide in the warmer ambient temps., as well as the
benefits of over-night Grooming and Low Mountain Traffic Volume.
A very, very fine day with Fresh Snow potential as an added bonus.

and still pure winter day at Tremblant!
Hope to see you on the slopes!
