The Summit Web Cam continues to be completely obscured by Snow...
that's a happy "winter" problem we can live with!

We've been saying it for weeks....

Thank Goodness for "North" and Tremblant's
latitude that means...

All 4 sides Open, but Flying Mile Off-line to begin with due to Wind Load
issues stated on the Official, Tremblant.a Snow Report.

Soleil is listed as "Progressive" or gradual opening this morning
until 10:00 A.M.

The Official, statistical Snowfall total for the 24 hour period
past @ 6:06 A.M. is 29 CM's or 11.5 inches.

Trail/Terrain Selection that matches skill level appropriately can be
critical after receiving a "heavy" snowfall. Beginners and not-so-confident
intermediates may find the thickness combined with the heavy damp
weight of the new snow difficult to navigate outside the groomed
areas.

Even within the groomed areas, there may be a certain amount of
resistance to sliding edges over the snow as the rate of compaction
will not be completely uniform on the first day after a big snowstorm.

There are most likely 2 dimensions to "Heavy" as well....

1) Falling at so close to the freezing mark, the ambient humidity
makes for Heavy snow because of a high internal moisture level.

2) 29 CM's or very close to a foot of new snow may seem heavy on
it's own terms of depth alone, moisture content not withstanding.

Typical... pg under construction, but the main thing is....
it's all snow and it's all go at Tremblant, so if you can make it
out anytime within the foreseeable future you should make
every effort you can.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
