March Already !
Wow, where did that February go?
It was a Great month with wonderful conditions, one or two surprises
from Mother Nature and a whole lot of Fun!
It is often said that March can come "In like a Lion, out like a Lamb”,
or Visa-Versa "In like a Lamb, out like a Lion".
I'm not exactly sure what we have here, it seems more like "In like a Freezer”,
but I'm not sure how that fits in with the "Lion, Lamb" scenario.
-25C, but under brilliantly sunny skies, our first of March is welcoming us
with genuine winter temps anyway, so you will need to bundle up this A.M.
We have 68 Trails open today, some on all 4 sides of the Mountain, so you
will be able to explore all over today, but as far as the lifts are concerned,
the "Edge" chair lift is showing a "Progressive" opening, which means it
could be late or delayed coming on line.
The winds are very light at this point, but they may swing around a bit
and pick up in speed as the day goes on.
The entire Mountain will be "Fast" so use caution around trail entrances,
exits and high traffic areas.
Watch your speed and be ready to stop on a dime for traffic. Braking will
need extra space in these conditions and it is very important that you
watch out for ice underfoot that could effect your control.
If we see the projected high temp of -4C under this sun, Soleil, Taschereau,
McCulloch, Kandahar plus other South Side areas could see enough thermal
energy to really warm and soften things up, so our prediction is that the
South Side will see the best conditions develop by shortly after lunch.
