11/25/13 Tremblant Conditions

Post by T360 »

Apres Ski Intro. @ 8:00 P.M

Here are the main reasons you want to Ski/Board Tremblant:

1) It's Winter.
2) Snowing right now.
3) What's Open is damn fine.

More later if we can, but it was snowing heavily at "Last Run".

7(*) Open Trails on the Cool, but Warming up Quickly Slopes at Tremblant.

-16C at South Resort Base level is definitely "Cool" by seasonal
Temp. standards, and it will have definitely rendered some "Cool",
as in good, desirable and beneficial, Winter Snow Sport Surfaces.

There's nothing like a good shot of "Cool" to dry out the crystalline
matrix of Snowmaking and on top of that there's been just enough
natural snow in the mix to yield an overall enhancement of the
speed, control and feel of the snow beneath your Skis or Boards
edges.

By the time lunch hour is over, things are forecast to have risen
fairly dramatically to -5C, and if it stays even moderately sunny,
that will make it a very easy, pleasant afternoon.

Below: On the ride up yesterday you got a wee preview of how
things were going to be a bit "Breezy"...

Getting off the Gondola at the Summit got you a real
taste of "Winter" the instant the doors opened.

This scene of the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair off-load zone yesterday
is no different that we could see in January, February or March.

It was very comforting to think that there's basically almost 5 months
of this scenery to look forward to. For Tremblant trip planners around
the local region, i.e., within a day's drive, you've got a lot of options
for the future of this season that are already looking very good.

For Tremblant Trip planners around the world, the Mountain is off to
an above average start, so if the weather continues on with seasonal
averages from this point forward, the week, weeks, month or longer
you've got planned to be here have every potential to be very fine.

"After" and "Before".

A case study of Tremblant Snowmaking Progress.

Featuring Tremblant Trail # 68, "Rope Tow", under the
Lowell Thomas Triple Chair.

Most comparisons done this way go "Before and After", but we're doing
the opposite because we think starting with what has been achieved in the
subject area of this case study will leave readers with an initial positive
impression about the very rapid rate of Snow production this team is capable of.

After: Yesterday at "Last Run", riding up the Lowell Thomas Triple Chair.

It does not take a Rocket Scientist to see that in 48 hours the
scope of coverage achieved is significant.

Furthermore, it does not take much imagination to see that if
production can keep up at this rate, it will not be long 'til areas
like this case study will have sufficient coverage to Open with
the trademark Tremblant smooth, seamless surfaces.

On The Existing Open Terrain...

...if you can sneak away, you could probably Ski an easy
30,000 vertical feet today... or tomorrow, or any other
day this week too.

It's gunna be like a "Private Club" week.

Last Run...

The sharp contrast of the peaceful North Side below the Summit, to
the wind of the South was amazing. The beauty of Mother Natures
quiet sheltered places on Versant Nord was overwhelming.

:) Bring Back The Memories... Research Future Visits...
If you would like to look up dates you visited Tremblant, or you
want to research days/weeks/months to visit, you can sample what
they look like historically, month by month, year by year.

GoTo: Archive, Search Reports by Date: Index: http://tinyurl.com/yktelmu

When reviewing dates from any of the past, numbered, archived pages,
you can use the "Previous Topic" or "Next Topic" buttons, located
screen far right, in upper date/message bar to scroll through sequential
dates, or use your browsers "back" button to stay on the selected index
page for non-sequential date reviews in either forward or reverse order.

There are approximately 6, 25 day Index pages per season.

( If you "Bookmark" the link above, it will always take you to the
First index page with the latest posts. That gives you an immediate,
current to 25 day past, review scroll of Winter Alpine Conditions by
consecutive date.)
